Position Summary:
The Marketing Strategist and Consultant is an experienced “T-shaped marketer” with a proven track record of creating quantifiable results for $2M - $50M businesses. This individual is responsible for advising Marketing Fems freelance members and their clients to achieve their transformational growth goals by developing strategic insights, formulating branding strategy, and overseeing a marketing transformation that results in client flow into their business. This individual will take the lead in increasing the business's brand awareness in the marketplace, identifying marketing-specific key performance indicators (KPIs), and effectively driving flow through a holistic marketing approach.
The Marketing Advisor will partner with our freelance members (also known as "Marketing Fems") to formulate a marketing strategy, develop and deliver creative marketing content, analyze data, and coach members, clients and their teams to integrate recognized best practices. A successful incumbent will possess a breadth of knowledge across marketing disciplines, strong relationship skills, and the ability to work and collaborate effectively within a highly fast-paced and team-centric environment.
Objectives:
- Provide coaching and mentorship to support the growth and development of our freelance members and their clients
- Guide and advise on building marketing infrastructure, tech stack, and process to support long term scalability of clients' marketing program
- Develop monthly strategies, quarterly plans, and annual plans for clients
- Define marketing strategy and effectively translate that strategy into action to drive results
- Conduct weekly/monthly follow-up with freelance members and/or clients to determine the effectiveness of marketing plans and fine-tune the tactics needed to maximize client flow
- Guide and advise on the implementation of foundational marketing components, such as customer personas, the brand house, and customer journeys
- Assist in creating a culture of marketing within each members' businesses by expanding marketing initiatives, identifying captains, and providing the training, tools, and support to positively impact results
- Provide guidance and expertise in analyzing and interpreting performance data to determine campaign success
- Provide strategic direction and expertise to members and clients in marketing plan creation, execution, and monitoring
Qualifications:
- Consultative nature, with ability to articulate high-level insights from complex data sets and highlight opportunities and risks
- Possess a moderate level of financial acumen in order to develop marketing budgets and ability to analyze and interpret complex data to create insights that inform inform key business decisions for the client
- Can successfully advise clients on how to successfully optimize and leverage CRM software automation, such as HubSpot to increase lead conversion rate and customer retention
- Deep understanding of analytics & data reporting platforms
- Experience developing integrated marketing strategy encompassing digital and traditional marketing tactics designed to meet the client’s needs and budget restrictions
- Advanced understanding of various digital marketing platforms and how a business should implement them
- Strong expertise in Excel, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Facebook Ads Manager
- Can effectively measure performance of a marketing campaign and draw conclusions to make recommendations
- Proven ability to lead comprehensive marketing campaigns that drive quantifiable results
Education and Experience:
- At least 6-8 years’ experience in marketing, sales, and management, preferably in a consulting capacity
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related area of study, or equivalent work experience
Flexibility:
This position offers a significant amount of flexibility, making it an excellent opportunity for those currently working as freelance consultant or brand strategists. We are currently growing our client base and foresee an average of 5 hours monthly consulting work, but expect to see this demand grow to 20+ hours monthly as our business grows.
