SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
HR Investigations manages and resolves workplace disputes (including complaints of discrimination and harassment) and provides guidance to managers and employees on Amtrak’s Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, Code of Ethics and Standards for Behavior, and other company policies. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to HR Investigations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide administrative support to the HR Investigations Specialists as needed.
- Conduct preliminary investigations with Complainant, internal clients and managers as necessary.
- Assist the Sr. Director, ER & Investigations and Manager, HR Investigations with the intake process, to include high-level review of complaints to determine severity and scope and assignment of matters.
- Maintain the Amtrak Helpline and case management databases, as they apply to HR Investigations.
- Analyze and present information on complaint filing trends and other relevant data points, using Tableau, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Other special projects and legal support duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a strong commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.
- 2-5 years recent experience working with information database(s).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity/experience with Tableau.
- Ability to evaluate facts and witness credibility.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to utilize a high degree of diplomacy, sound judgment, and work effectively with all levels of Amtrak’s organization.
- 2-5 years recent experience conducting complaint intake and/or client/witness interviews.
- 2-5 years recent experience utilizing Excel for pivot tables and data reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Paralegal certificate
- Previous intake/interviewing duties in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
The salary range is $91,830- $119,010 Lead HR Investigations Analyst. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation. In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for providers of public transportation (Title 6 U.S.C. §1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses.
Note that any education requirement listed above may be deemed satisfied if you have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
