About The Role
Shopify is moving to become more product-focused with our Talent Systems. This team is responsible for the next generation of autonomous talent; this is a system, that independently learns from internal / external data, that predicts how Shopifolk can meet principles and missions. Talent Systems powers our business, provides domain leadership for internal technology, and delivers technology to make Shopifolk more impactful and ensure operational excellence for internal systems.
As a Lead Business Technologist, you will help manage functional programs for Talent with a focus on Total Rewards or Talent Systems. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Act as a functional expert in either Talent Systems or Total Rewards, working to build and implement internal systems
  • Create talent product programs with a focus on Talent Systems or Total Rewards working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment
  • Apply product management principles to talent programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the business and drive positive outcomes

Qualifications:
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills while exercising sound judgment

  • Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with the ability to exercise discretion and show good judgment; honesty, integrity, and trust-building behaviors in all dealings is essential and required in this role
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with mentoring others on the team
  • Strong HR functional expertise with either Talent Systems, Total Rewards or both - particularly in implementing tooling
  • Experience participating in the development and implementation of systems in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Able to take ownership of ambiguous tasks
