Citizens Inc. is seeking a motivated Information Technology - User and Computer Support student for an internship in our Information Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience and training that will provide an opportunity for growth, learning, and development in an IT department in the life insurance sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with business users and management to provide support for computer software and hardware. They may troubleshoot issues for computer users over the phone as a help desk technician. The intern will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and assist in other areas, including SharePoint Online administration, Active Directory User Management, file restore from backup and more.
Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to learn and work with industry leading tools and technologies such as Rubrik Security Cloud, Jira Service Management, Okta Identity Cloud, Splashtop SOS, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
- Results-driven, detail-oriented, motivated self-starter with good organization skills
- Expected graduation date between December 2023 and December 2024
- Pursuing a AAS degree or CT1 certificate in User and Computer Support or related field
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Adapts well to change and able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven team
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and a strong desire to learn
- High level of professionalism and a customer-service mindset
- Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Competency in Microsoft applications, especially SharePoint
- End-User desktop support, email support, phone support, etc.
Internship Learning Goals
- Learn industry leading ticketing and productivity tools and technologies
- Gain an understanding and in-depth working knowledge of how to develop a professional, attractive, useful, and engaging SharePoint site
- Learn and adopt professionalism and stakeholder management skills working both within an Information Technology department and with business stakeholders
- Develop skills required to gather and interpret requirements and information needed to complete tasks; learn when, who, and how to ask for assistance when needed
