Responsibilities
•
The PC Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining, configuring, installing, and troubleshooting of company owned hardware and software systems
•
This person also provides IT related customer service and technical support to all users company-wide
•
This individual shall at all times uphold the foundational goals of MUTI - "Client Service, Quality, and Safety" - to enhance the integrity for which the organization has become known
•
Installs new or upgrades PC, printer, and accessory equipment for individual users
•
Maintains an accurate inventory of all PCs and PC-related equipment
•
Responds to assigned Help Desk tickets within established guidelines
•
Maintains favorable customer relations by handling requests in a tactful, timely and professional manner
•
Empowers end users by training and educating
•
Participates in after-hours on-call rotation for the Production Support group
•
Interacts with network services and/or applications development teams
•
Maintains currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise
•
Escalates more complex problems using Departmental resources and Product Support
•
Additional duties as assigned
•
Work may include lifting objects weighing up to and sometimes exceeding 50 pounds
•
Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications
Associates Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required
•
Working knowledge of PC hardware, network printers, and phone systems
•
Working knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office products
•
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
•
Strong customer-service orientation at all times
•
Work may include frequent kneeling and stooping
•
Must be able to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of the organization
•
Must be dependable and motivated
•
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
•
Ability to communicate information through speech and in writing to be easily understood by all personnel
•
Knowledge of principles and procedures, as they apply to MUTI and the telecommunications industry
•
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning
•
Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in work flow and constantly changing priorities
•
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed
•
Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching
•
Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
•
Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
