We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Manager to support this new business venture.


The HR Manager will be responsible for all HR functions to include, but not limited to: strategic HR business partner support, recruiting, compensation, workforce planning, working with the HR system/payroll vendor, performance management, engagement, and employee relations.


The successful candidate should have experience as an HR Manager or other senior HR role in a start-up company. This role will report to the head of the US business and management in Tokyo.


The HR Manager will be required to be on-site 5 days per week in the office. The current office is located in Culver City, CA.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for creating and updating employment policies, in accordance with federal, state and local law.
  • Provide strategic HR business partner support to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Additional responsibilities and projects may be required.
  • Manage full life cycle recruiting process to include job description creation, sourcing, selection process, offer and onboarding.
  • Lead activities relating to implementation of HR, payroll, and benefits systems. After implementation, responsible for the management of vendor and system.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Work closely with facilities management at the current office location and assist with finding dedicated office space for team.
  • Implementation of HR processes and execution of human resources programs including but not limited to: employee orientation, recruiting, compensation, benefits, leave administration, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition, occupational health and safety and training and development.
  • Support the management team.
  • Manage and investigate employee relations matters and resolve employee concerns in accordance with company policies and employment laws.


Requirements:


  • Build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • 7+ years HR experience. HR experience should include start-up environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR practices
  • Ability to architect strategy
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
  • BA degree in Human Resources or related field
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases


The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $110,000 to $125,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
