Primary Responsibilities:
Bozzuto is seeking a Human Resources & Benefits manager to join the team. The incumbent will manage the day-to-day activities of the team as they relate to benefits management, leave administration, general HR and compliance.
As the Manager, your primary responsibilities include:
Human Resources:
- Provide guidance and oversight for the day-to-day activities of the HR Generalists.
- Assist with the semi-annual merit increase process – manage changes and perform audit to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Oversee unemployment claims processing.
- Facilitate and support HR projects and conduct HR-related training.
- Collaborate with the Payroll team, HRIS Manager on year end requirements.
- Perform periodic audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with Federal and State laws.
- Proactively minimizes legal risk; ensures compliance with HR policies and governmental regulations.
- Assist with benchmarking compensation and participating in industry surveys.
- Oversee and support HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes.
- Oversee the HR Communications strategy and make recommendations for effective communication to site teams.
- Fulfill reporting needs including monthly BLS reporting, reporting for employment contracts, EEO-1.
Benefits:
- Assist in administering the 401(k) and non-qualified deferred compensation programs including overseeing the day-to-day program requirements.
- Oversee and provide input for the Wellness program.
- Oversee all aspects of the Workers Compensation program to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal/State/Local laws and company policy. Work closely with leadership to approve requests for reserves increases, wage documentation, resolution of claims in litigation.
- Work closely with T.Rowe Price to run the mid-year and year-end nondiscrimination testing including determining eligibility for testing and resolving eligibility questions.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for Federal and State leave programs under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership. Have a thorough understanding of state paid family leave laws and their interplay with company benefits. Advise the Benefits team on complex leaves.
- Responsible for annual 401(k) audit, working closely with auditors on PBC list requests, manage the internal audit process.
- Manage the open enrollment process including participating in renewal discussions, conducting employee meetings, providing guidance during open enrollments and audit enrollments with payroll.
- Have a thorough understanding of the Affordable Care Act, oversee monthly hours tracking, offers of benefits, and year end compliance and reporting.
- Have a thorough understanding of the 401(k) loan delinquency process and determine action needed to resolve the delinquent loans.
- Assist with the creation of OSHA logs.
- Assist with other audits including Workers Compensation, auto and liability, property annual audits.
- Oversee and work closely with the Benefits specialists on the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leaves.
- Help to promote the different benefits offered with the company to increase enrollment levels, awareness and participation.
- Administer other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
- Responsible for filing Forms 5500 for the 401(k) and benefits programs.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and advise benefits team on short and long-term disability insurance programs.
- Reconcile and approve biweekly 401(k) funding in the carrier website. Work closely with Benefits Specialist to resolve discrepancies.
- Develop, recommend, and implement new or modified benefit procedures and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
What You Bring to Us:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field -OR- equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience with multi-state benefits, specifically states with paid family leave laws.
- Proven success in managing multiple projects on schedule and within budget
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop concise and on-brand messaging.
- Ability to effectively work and interact with customers and team members
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Previous Experience with UltiPro HRIS desirable.
- A general understanding of payroll and accounting functions, specifically related to their interaction with Benefits.
