Job Description
Job Responsibilities


  • Keep office organized.
  • Enter weekly leave and attendance reports and assist with any missing time.
  • Assist with auditing leave files and meets specified deadlines for payroll.
  • File and create employee files.
  • Ensures vacant positions are announced via the institutional job board.
  • Assist with classification records, including position descriptions, of all positions assigned to the institution.
  • Provides guidance/ assistance to institutional employees with questions or problems, problems concerning payroll, leave, EAP etc.
  • Assist the human resource manager with any other duties as needed.


Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
The State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and administrative experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience. (Or an acceptable equivalence as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
SCDC Minimum Requirements
  • Education can substitute for experience.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year responsible clerical secretary or administrative experience.
May be required to have experience in the use of CRT and/or personal computer.
