The Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementation of a varied wellness program designed to meet the physical and wellness needs of Independent Living residents.

$64,000 - 74,000 (depending on experience) plus 10% bonus potential!
Principle Duties

• Oversees fitness staff, programs and vendors
• Performs initial assessments and orientation for residents to actively participate in fitness programs and activities, maintains necessary attendance & progress reports as needed.
• Creates a varied and interesting monthly fitness calendar that meets resident’s needs
• Develops and maintains an on-going new resident participation tracking system, develop and implement action plans for improvement.
• Maintains resident paperwork related to fitness program and keeps a current resident roster.
• Supports Activities department with events, parties and chaperones evening trips on occasion.
• Arranges and schedules a monthly health lecture
• Maintains Fitness page on Portal
• Oversees the fitness facilities and equipment preventive maintenance.
• Encourages residents to take an active part in various fitness and recreational programs.
• Comply with State and Federal Requirements.
• Oversees resident fitness committee and leads the monthly meetings.
• Plan and execute Annual Fitness events.
• Focuses on resident communication and safety
• Produces a quarterly newsletter
• Leads wellness and fitness classes.
• Participates in professional growth and continuing education programs as needed.
• Maintains overall confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching fitness and/or wellness classes
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic.
• Current ACSM Certification or current NCCA-accredited, health/fitness-related certifications (e.g., ACE, NCSF, NSCA, Cooper Institute).
• Bachelor Degree or higher in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology or licensed PT, PTA.
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates.
• Computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
• At least one year experience in a social or recreation program or a healthcare setting working with the elderly strongly preferred
