Requiem Cafe, a unique fantasy-themed coffee shop in downtown Anaheim, California, is seeking a dedicated and passionate store manager. At our creative small business, you’ll be able to inspire your team, lead operations, and collaborate with licensors for themed events.

Who We Are:

Requiem: Coffee, Tea, and Fantasy is a queer-owned cafe committed to creating a place of community and respite from the stressors of modern life. We strive to bring our customers a sense of joy, comfort, and wonder in our immersive, themed atmosphere. We’ve recently expanded our cafe to include a retail space, selling pushies, tabletop gaming essentials, collectables, and more. We hope that anyone who needs a place to exhale and be themselves can find that space within Requiem. Since we opened our doors in 2019, Requiem has collaborated with licensors including Blizzard Entertainment, ATLUS, Crunchyroll, and Viz Media to host official themed events celebrating series and games our customers love most. What You Will Do:

As the store manager of Requiem Cafe, you will have the unique opportunity to add your creativity to our store’s events and deliver operational excellence. A successful store manager:

Daily responsibilities of a store manager of Requiem Cafe will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for all Requiem customers
• Collaborating with Requiem’s owner to implement store operation improvements and plan licensed events
• Directing all Requiem Cafe staff to mastery
• Ordering and restocking cafe materials, including occasional visits to restaurant supply stores
• Writing work schedules on a regular, consistent basis
• Managing the human element of Requiem, including managing morale, encouraging staff personal growth, and discipline if needed

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate for a store manager at Requiem Cafe will:

• Be willing to collaborate with and support Requiem’s staff and owner
• Have an eye for detail and efficiency
• Have the ability to perform various physical tasks during the work shift
• Possess good problem-solving skills and sound judgment
• Have a solid understanding of business practices and what makes a business successful
• Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude
• Have a minimum of three years’ experience as a manager in food service or retail provider

What Benefits You Will Receive:

As the store manager of Requiem Cafe, you will receive:

• A starting hourly pay of $23-$25 working approximately 32 hours per week.
