The Carlisle Group is pleased to be retained by the largest single-store grocery cooperative in the country, Sacramento Natural Foods. This co-op has become a trusted resource in America’s “Farm-to-Fork Capital” as the go-to place for local foods over the past 4 decades!
We are looking for the next General Manager to continue the successes the co-op has had in sales, while leading a dynamic team and building upon the cooperative principles that form the foundation of this noble organization.
The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. They must ensure compliance with cooperative principles and values, strategic planning, board relations, financial operations, human resources, contracts and compliance, public relations, and co-op governance support.
The General Manager reports to and supports the activities of the Board of Directors, makes decisions and policies consistent with Board policies, and oversees the development and performance of the Strategic Leadership Team and staff. They are accountable for financial performance and upholding the co-op's standards and values.
The General Manager supervises various directors and specialists in different departments and handles essential duties such as governance, customer experience, strategic development, operations, financial management, contracts and compliance, facilities safety and security, employee management and development, and other assigned duties.
The ideal candidate should have experience in retail grocery management, working with a Board of Directors, managing financial statements and projections, and leading a top-level management team. They should possess excellent communication skills, proficiency in relevant computer software, attention to detail, ability to set and achieve goals, and adaptability to changing environments. Customer service, people management, adaptability, attendance and punctuality, dependability, quality, quantity, safety and security are among the essential competencies for this role.
