How You Make An Impact:


Our dynamic software and data science company, specializing in providing transformative products and services to community oncology providers, is seeking a dedicated Director, Technology Strategy and Operations. As a key part of our technology administration team, you will be pivotal in guiding our technology journey operationally and strategically.


In this capacity, your primary responsibility will be working across our diverse technology teams, crafting, and implementing an effective performance measurement framework. You will lead the development of robust, quantifiable metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring we monitor and manage our technology outcomes effectively. You will be instrumental in shifting our metric journey from transactional measurements to more comprehensive performance outcomes.


In addition, you will assume a leading role in technology quality assurance and control across our technology divisions. Working across technology functions will involve setting quality standards, overseeing adherence to these standards, and implementing strategies for continuous quality improvement.


Further, you will be tasked with establishing practical internal tools, processes, and communication protocols to enhance operational efficiency. Central to your role will be ensuring transparency and visibility across teams. Your efforts will centralize important documents and roadmaps, providing shared visibility to our performance and progress.


A critical part of your mandate is to improve internal and external communication with our key stakeholders materially. You will be the driving force in developing and implementing strategies that keep stakeholders effectively informed about our operations, progress, and accomplishments.


Beyond these responsibilities, you will also support the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer as well. This will involve you leading special projects.


By joining our team, you will be at the forefront of driving operational excellence, enhancing stakeholder communication, shaping strategic initiatives, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Your contributions will significantly aid our mission of providing innovative data solutions to advance oncology healthcare.


How You’ll Spend Your Day:


  • Stakeholder Communication: Innovate internal and external communication strategies aimed at key stakeholders. Implement regular reporting mechanisms to keep stakeholders updated on progress and achievements.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality standards across the technology division, instigate rigorous quality control systems, and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
  • This is not an exhaustive list; other relevant duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the needs and discretion of the business.
  • Operational Efficiency & Transparency: Develop practical and effective internal tools and processes, streamline communication protocols, and centralize key documents to enhance transparency and shared visibility of progress and performance.
  • Executive Support: Support Chief Innovation and Technology Officer in day-to-day operations.
  • Collaboration & Culture: Promote an inclusive culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and excellence, consistent with a high-performing technology team.
  • Performance Measurement: Design and enforce comprehensive, measurable KPIs across all technology domains. Drive the transition from transactional to performance-based metrics.


Experience You’ll Need:


  • 10+ years of experience supporting senior leadership
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 6+ years of people leadership experience and developing talent for high-performing teams
  • 12+ years of experience in clinical performance and quality improvement leveraging six sigma


Critical Skills Needed for Success:


  • Strong leadership skills with a record of building and motivating high-performing teams
  • Extensive customer success leadership experience, particularly within the healthcare industry
  • Should have demonstrated expertise in clinical quality and performance improvement, program implementation, technology and workflow integration, and regulatory compliance
  • Passion for making a difference in healthcare and improving patient outcomes
  • Familiarity with community oncology providers is a plus
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to leverage analytics and metrics to evaluate initiatives and identify areas for improvement
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute customer success strategies aligned with the unique needs of complex healthcare systems
  • In-depth understanding of the healthcare landscape, including trends and challenges
  • Balance of EQ & IQ
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building relationships and influencing stakeholders


What Makes You Excel:


  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Experience working in complex matrix environments, leading, inspiring, and managing teams.
  • Prior experience in a Chief of Staff role is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in process optimization and change management.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing technology metrics and KPIs.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a record of managing stakeholder relationships effectively.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.


Our Base Pay Range for this position


$137,700 - $229,500
