Job Summary:
The SS&P Director is responsible for leading a Center of Excellence for collaboration and communication, connecting the Food Service Sales Org to the Business and Supply Chain. In partnership with Sales leadership and cross-functional teams, develop, coordinate, and deploy strategies to enable Sales activation of the Business Units’ AOP (Annual Operating Plan). They provide strategic input and guide sales through the S&OP demand process. They are also responsible for ensuring that the sales & customer voice is embedded in all internal decisions.
Location: This position will be based out of our WHQ in Springdale, Arkansas. This position is 5 days a week in the office, with flexibility. Relocation assistance may be provided to those who qualify under the Tyson relocation policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Partners with sales and customer planning & development to create holistic customer & channel strategies that align to business priorities and objectives
- Manages sales pipeline and develops holistic action plans relative to opportunities/risk
- Partners with business units to translate business objectives and strategies into channel & customer priorities
- Partners with sales on development of AOP volumes, forecasts and projections
- Guides AOP, Strategic Planning and S&OP demand processes for sales
- Leads and develops a high-performing team
- Develops, coordinates and deploys sales strategies to enable sales activation of the AOP
- Interacts cross-functionally with Sales, Business Units, Innovation, Channel & Customer Development, Customer Engagement, Rev Man, Supply Chain and Finance
- Acts as lead on cross category initiatives for Strategy and Planning Department and represents foodservice across total Prepared SS&P
- Voice of sales & customers internally to aid with execution of sales & customer strategies
- Leads sales facing communication of business priorities, supply & capacity updates, sales objectives & initiatives
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of formal and/or business application experience within sales, product/category management, sales/customer planning or business development; Foodservice experience is essential for success and to be considered for the position.
- Strong financial acumen, analytic and problem-solving skills required
- Travel: Some travel is required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field; MBA a plus
- Leadership Skills: Ability to partner, manage and influence across a large matrix organization. Comfortable working with all levels of leadership, both internal and external. Must influence and lead cross-functionally, as well as vertically.
- Advanced communication skills are required including the ability to synthesize complex information, provide context, implications, and solutions to create a strategic, simplified selling story through a visual representation. Strong verbal communication skills, 1-on-1, in a group setting and to senior business leaders is required.
- Supervisory: Must demonstrate ability to lead a team and build strong cross-functional relationships. This role will have 7 direct reports.
- Computer Skills: Advanced skills in Power Point, Excel and knowledge of syndicated data to inform sales planning. Must excel in leveraging customer relationship management programs and learning new analytic and/or communication software platforms.
- Special Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and develop & drive efficient processes.
