Job Summary

The Director, Learning and Development role will lead and support development for all levels of the organization from club to corporate, including, but not limited to, implementing a refined performance management philosophy and structure, building and sustaining a companywide learning and development curriculum, and providing the change management insight required to encourage adoption and utilization of all learning and development initiatives.


24 Hour leaders are player-coaches who find passion and drive from building strategy to executing the work required to bring the strategy to life. The Director, Learning and Development is no different. This role will work with 24 Hour leaders to understand the needs of the business and translate that into a learning strategy and execute a plan to enable both business and team member success.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Oversee management of learning and development vendor relationships to ensure delivery and implementation of services that meet business needs.
  • Champion 24's DEI efforts, enhancing Employee Resource Group engagement and leading efforts to plan for future DEI expansion.
  • Assist and provide consultative services to the organization and its leaders regarding potential organizational change such changes in job roles and responsibilities, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and changes to compensation models.
  • Lead the implementation and continual improvement of the Performance Management Processes (PMP).
  • Develop and/or identify programs to impact leadership development in corporate and field leadership roles.
  • Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration within HR and the business when identifying, designing, executing, and assessing all learning and development programs and initiatives.
  • Lead the organization's talent review and succession planning activities.
  • Develop the infrastructure for all learning and development programs by creating standardized methods and processes for delivery, evaluation, measurement, and reporting.
  • Lead the design, build, and continued evolution of a curriculum framework for field and corporate team members.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership for company-wide learning and development efforts.
  • Leverage technology to ensure learning and development programs are efficiently implemented across 24's multi-unit footprint.
  • Leverage data insights to drive, modify and create future learnings based on the impact and effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee efforts to measure team member engagement and provide leadership to subsequent action planning.


Department Leadership Responsibilities


  • Foster collaboration across the team to ensure department objectives and strategies align and support key business drivers.
  • Promote a constructive work environment; organizing staff to accomplish work and meet business demands and encouraging initiative and risk taking.
  • Develop annual department and project budgets with monthly P&L review; identify variances and take corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Oversee the Learning and Development function to ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Interview, select, evaluate, and reward the performance of all direct reports.
  • Ensure staff receives on-going training.
  • Socialize department objectives in a compelling way to garner Senior Leader support and awareness.


ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS


Reports to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and oversees a team of 3-5 team members and directly manages the leaders of three distinct areas: Talent Management, Learning and Development, and DEI. Works closely with fellow members of the HR leadership team, the broader HR community, and other departments routinely.

  • Demonstrated strong organization and time management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate concepts, make presentations and clearly present complex written information and findings in a highly professional manner.
  • Strong written and oral communication, presentation, negotiation, consultation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to design compelling learning modules suited to adult learners.
  • Ability to deliver relevant and effective consultative and advisory services to leaders across the organization.
  • Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to design and implement large scale learning and development initiatives.
  • Proven ability in organizational design and development using competency-based models.
  • Ability to demonstrate practical application of organizational development concepts and tools.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Detail-oriented; flexible and creative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities.
  • Ability to collect, assimilate and analyze data and present results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate analysis of organizational data (e.g., survey responses, business outcomes) and present results in a clear and concise manner.


Minimum Educational Level/Certifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related program.


Minimum Work Experience And Qualifications


  • 3+ years managerial experience including leading large-scale projects that involve numerous departments, stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Experience working in an environment with a substantial non-exempt position.
  • Multi-unit, retail experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Learning, Talent Management, and/or Organizational Development developing and facilitating learning and organizational development programs.


Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions


  • Must be able to work at a computer terminal for 8 hours a day.
  • Indoor office environment.


Travel Requirement


  • Occasional travel may be required 10%.


Preferred Qualifications


Educational Level/Certifications


  • Master's degree in Organizational Development/Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Training & Development, Business or related program.
  • Certifications in Leadership Development programs, psychological/personality assessments (e.g., Myers-Briggs), or Project Management.

There are eligibility requirements for each plan based on your position, hire and/or service date and your average hours worked. Benefit eligible team members may also accrue vacation hours. All 24 Hour Team members, and their eligible dependents, receive a complimentary membership.


Compensation Summary


All Employees: Free Club Membership, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Basic Group Live and AD&D Insurance ($10,000), and 401k Savings and Investment Plan.


Average of 30 hours or more per week: Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above).


Actual offer may vary from posted hiring range based on location, work experience, and/or education.


Salary range will vary based on geography of the applicant.


Pay Range for CO, NV, RI: $146,331.00-$188,127.00 (Exempt), $70.35-$90.45 (Non-Exempt)


Pay Range for WA: $155,097.00-$199,397.00 (Exempt), $74.57-$95.86 (Non-Exempt)


Pay Range for CT, New York City, Jersey City: $161,840.00-$208,067.00 (Exempt), $77.81-$100.03 (Non-Exempt)


Pay Range for CA: $146,331.00-$208,067.00 (Exempt), $70.35-$100.03 (Non-Exempt)
