Our agency client is seeking an experienced Digital Creative Director to join their team in what can be considered a hybrid role of divided responsibilities:
The main focus of this role, roughly 75%, is to lead a team of designers and copy professionals as they support a national retail client comprised of 11 brands with their email campaigns. Our client has really levelled up their retail client’s email efforts as they set themselves apart from their competitors. While the team follows brand standards they also work with the client to create dynamic visuals and copy to engage the consumer on their path to purchase. This role will focus solely on the design and copy, after which it will be released to the client for deployment. In addition to bringing one’s keen sense of strategy, the Digital Creative Director will also be client facing on a weekly basis as well as presenting at quarterly reviews when new ideas are presented in an effort to continue to move the needle for the retail giant.
The remaining 25% of this Creative Director role will allow one to spread his/her digital strategic design direction as one participates in new business pitches, as well as supporting other creative teams with their digital design needs that can be comprised of: Microsites, Playbooks, Social Media, Digital Ads, Presentations, etc.
Overall, here is what we are seeking in the Digital Creative Director:
- A professional who comes with a broad digital scope in their experience but at the Creative Director or possibly even Associate Creative Director level
- Keen sense of creative strategy
- Strong presentation skills
- Able to direct not only design but copy team
- Need to be comfortable working in the files as needed
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in design
- Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills. Meets commitments and demonstrates excellent follow-through
- Passionate about design
- Strategic and critical thinker with keen problem-solving skills. Self-motivated individual with a positive, proactive attitude
- Strong portfolio of digital campaign work, email work MUST be showcased. Work must highlight typography, color, layout, and branding
- Impressive presentation and storytelling skills to both internal teams and external clients. Strong written and verbal communication abilities that include initiating and creating supporting materials
- Exhibits professionalism, adaptability and composure under stressful situations
- Minimum 5 years in a Digital CD or ACD role with direct reports
- Well versed industry-standard creative applications: Figma, XD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office applications.
