Job Summary of the Role:
The Associate Director of Creative Strategy will be the strategic mentor and manager of a team of Creative Strategists. They are required to have a robust understanding of direct response paid social creative best practices, understand the relationship between brand and direct response advertising and never lose sight of client’s performance goals. The Associate Director of Creative Strategy knows how to analyze historical data in the ads manager platform, identify current ecommerce trends, and consumer behavior and develop winning paid social advertising that impacts their client's growth.
This role is client facing and highly collaborative. Associate Director of Creative Strategy will collaborate with leaders on our paid social team and internal creative team to train and mentor the team on how to develop creative hypotheses and tests with the intention of moving the needle on key performance metrics — from increasing CPA, CTR, or ROAS to driving brand awareness.
The Associate Creative Strategy Director has the ability to take the reins on enterprise accounts and pitch new ideas and concepts to clients, write scripts, creative briefs, and follow the execution and review or ads through production and delivery to clients. They will also serve as an escalation point when Creative Strategists are struggling to meet client expectations.
The Associate Creative Strategy Director will develop processes and trainings for their immediate team and the creative department as a whole, that will facilitate the ease and efficiency of building performance-driven creative for Power Digital clients.
Responsibilities:
- Builds processes for creative strategy that benefit both their immediate team and the department as a whole.
- Hold the client and paid social manager to the creative test budget and campaign and strategy.
- Leads training and development of their team
- Oversees the paid social creative direction / strategy for a growing team of creative strategists.
- Ensures on-time delivery of projects
- Hypes performance/strategy of concepts being pitched and presented
- Leads creative strategy for 1-2 enterprise accounts or serves as consultant and escalation point for their team of strategists. These responsibilities include:
- Knows what goes into requested edits, reshoots, etc.
- Pushes back on client on matters of timeline, scope, feedback, direction
- Manages a team of strategist and strategy-minded producers
- Leads internal and external creative syncs, kickoffs, brainstorms, kickoffs, presentations
- Client POC for all things creative strategy and scope
- Outlines script treatments, writes strategic consumer-centric direct response copy and messaging strategy
- Review and provide clear and actionable feedback to strategists, producers, editors, graphic designers and content creators.
- Works with or is the Executive Sponsor on an account and the go-to for service expansions, invoicing, etc.
- Client go-to for creative questions, status updates, feedback requests
- Implement performance creative best practices by platform
- Knows the client's brand guide by heart. knows common feedback.
- Final say on quality of concepts being presented
- Make strategic creative decisions for next ad deliveries based on performance learnings.
- Dictate test strategy & hypothesis

- Manages a team of Strategists and their bandwidth
- Leads or consults on enterprise-level creative account strategy
- Mentors and develops training for Strategists and Producers to improve quality and performance of creative

Requirements:
- Curiosity / Intellectual humility and a strong interest in social media.
- Eager to learn new ideas, even when those go against their preconceived notions.
- Digs deep when they don’t know something. Is comfortable with being wrong and learning from it.
- Understanding of FB Ads Manager, and/or experience with other ad platforms including TikTok, Youtube, Pinterest, CTV.
- Can recognize confusing or unclear messaging/visuals.
- Plus if you have FB Creative Strategy Certification.
- Strong command of English language: grammar and syntax.
- Can recognize patterns in advertising and re-apply them.
- Can recognize gaps in persuasiveness of messaging/visuals.
- 2 years of management experience
- Communication: Can distill and explain complex concepts to others. Can formulate solid responses to questions on the fly.
- 5 years of relevant direct response advertising experience
- Previous experience in direct response ad Concepting & Briefing
- Strong analytical skills : Can analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions about creative executions.
- Can learn new skills and domains and then apply successfully
- Paid social Advertising / Direct Response experience / writing samples are a big plus
