Design Assistant Jobs

Our client, a European contemporary fashion brand with an an office in Century City, is looking for a Design Assistant to join them for a 3 month contract. The Design Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Product Designer and Concept Designer. Please note, this role will work onsite in Century City 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:

• Update technical sketches
• Assists in designing the product group from set vision
• Develop and draw/update products for target costumer
• Assist Designers with mood boards, fittings, fabrics, trimmings, hardware, shapes, and stories
• Assist with the design process, update information in systems, record comments and change sketches after fittings
• Participate in the process of fitting and shape
• Ensure the level of quality/articles correspond to CM brief
• Contribute new ideas and styles
• Help to visualize an overview of what products the costumer wants to wear next season

Qualifications:

• Strong commercial awareness and a genuine fashion interest
• 1-2 years’ experience of working as a Fashion Designer Assistant or Fashion Designer
• Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to see the overall picture and keep the customer’s perspective in mind at all times
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic ever changing environment
• Knowledge of pattern making, sewing and textile materials required
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A positive mindset that always sees possibilities, improvements and simple solutions
