GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Corporate Potbelly Recruiting Manager will lead and behave according to the Potbelly Values and uphold the Potbelly Advantage. They know how to source, attract, select, and hire the best talent into Potbelly. They will provide support by increasing Potbelly’s bench strength through external sourcing, recruiting, and selection efforts. They will develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to help attract and retain top talent within the organization. They will play an active role in partnering with corporate leadership to attract and retain world class employees.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate successful new hires transitions and follow up to ensure a successful on boarding and training process. Conduct new hire entry interviews 30-45 days from hire.
- Explores new sourcing and recruitment vendors and stays current on recruiting trends.
- Partner with peers as needed to ensure all of Potbelly’s recruiting needs are met as quickly as possible.
- Handle candidate inquiries to ensure quick and courteous resolution and always representing our Potbelly Values.
- Helps Troubleshoot recruiting, selection, and onboarding issues in the HR Information System (HRIS) and the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) as needed.
- Placing recruitment advertising and sourcing applicants, reviewing applicants, interviewing and selecting applicants, scheduling and coordinating follow-up interviews, handling reference checks, and negotiating, preparing, and presenting offers.
- Operates within budgetary guidelines while achieving goals.
- Maintains candidate tracking to optimize use of company resources and measurements of the recruitment process.
- Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations related to the hiring process.
- Has a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I.)
- Assist with field recruiting, when necessary, for shop level management and hourly employees.
- Form partnerships with and attract talent through outside organizations to attract talent from all walks of life.
- Conduct staffing and hiring classes as needed.
- Manage sourcing, recruiting and selection activity for corporate positions to include Support Center (SC) and field-based corporate roles. This could include C-Suite positions to entry level positions and internships.
- Network and source to recruit passive and active candidates, including job fairs, recruiting events, cold calling, database searches, networking with Potbelly employees, personal and professional network, and attending functions designed for networking and/or professional development.
- Assist the Director of Talent Acquisition in developing the fiscal year budget, developing and maintaining processes and tools to support the recruitment best practices, and lead the calibration and strategic analysis to ensure all guidelines are efficient and effective.
- Partner with leadership to assess staffing levels, along with actual and anticipated needs and timing. Work with leadership to understand the market’s competitive environment and sourcing opportunities. Develop an effective recruitment strategy to achieve our bench goals.
- Provide interview training guides, tools, and support to hiring managers. Update and enhance those training tools as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Partner with the Potbelly Sourcing Specialist on search priorities and sourcing needs.
- Attend meetings as necessary (in-person and virtual), planning meetings, HR/TA team meetings, and 1:1s with the Director of Talent Acquisition.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to travel as needed to meet the needs of the business.
- Must be able to communicate heavily with candidates, employees and Support Center personnel through telephone, text, video calls, webinars, e-mail, instant messaging, and in-person communications.
- Will frequently finely manipulate and key in data.
- Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 50 to 55 hours a week.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a recruiting capacity handling corporate level positions. Restaurant industry a plus.
- Must have strong sense of urgency in recruiting and moving candidates along in the process.
- “Always be recruiting” mentality.
- Must be proficient at recruiting through social media.
- Must be proficient at recruiting through various job boards and the use of their analytics.
- Experienced at recruiting at all levels of corporate recruiting to include all levels of a corporate organization.
- Must be proficient at the use of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to manage the recruiting process and analyze results.
- Experienced at coaching hiring managers on how they can meet their recruiting needs.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Loves recruiting!
- Experienced with heavy systems and processes.
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of management, handle confidential information with integrity, exercise strong presentation skills, motivate others, apply strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, has a good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and represents the Potbelly brand well.
- BA or BS degree required.
- A self-motivated and results-driven focus with the ability to recruit passive candidates through networking, cold calling, resume sourcing, and other creative sourcing.
- Certified HR professional through either HRCI (PHR or SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM SCP) preferred.

- Must demonstrate leadership behaviors and values that align with the Potbelly brand.
