PreviewLabs specializes in the development of prototypes using game development technology, helping our clients test or pitch ideas. We do this for any kind of game technology, including for PC and mobile games, VR/AR experiences, games used in scientific research studies, etc. Our clients include Activision and Yale University, as well as numerous startups.

We are looking for a Business Developer in the United States or Canada to support our growth, leading us to our next high profile or secret startup clients.

Description

• Working collaboratively with our founder, project manager, and developers.
• Founder and other team members.
• Assisting in other processes as needed, such as recruitment and press releases.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with prospects, establishing trust in the company.
• Interacting with prospects or clients via email, text, and phone.
• Growing interest and building rapport with people within a prospective client’s organization.
• Maintaining prospect and client information in our Salesforce database.
• Following up on opportunities for projects as well as public speaking opportunities for the
• Growing our prospective client’s familiarity with our company by reaching out through various communication channels.
• Scheduling calls and meetings with prospects and clients.
• Using various resources to determine potential clients to reach out to within a wide range of industries, academic fields, and use cases of game technology.
• Overseeing the entire lifecycle of our clients, and continuing to build the relationship after the initial collaboration.

Requirements

• Comfortable reaching out to people by email, over the phone, by voice mail, text message, and through social media platforms.
• Native English skills, with excellent reading comprehension as well as strong speaking and writing skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a high interest in business strategy and processes.
• Having done sales work within the game or software development industry.
• Comfortable speaking to prospects and clients. Not afraid to engaging people and starting a conversation at industry/networking events.
• Has played through a variety of video games.
• Attention to detail and diligent in follow-up.
• Being self-organized, able to juggle different tasks, and manage your own time.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pluses

• Interested in occasionally traveling to industry events.
• Deep understanding of the game development process (either for games or applications of game technology) through education or previous work experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

Practical

• Includes mentorship by the founder of the company.
• Work from our office in Guilford, Connecticut, or remotely from within the US or Canada.
