About the Role:


A trusted advisor for Banking as a Service (“BaaS”) leadership by assisting the first line of defense with managing their overall effectiveness of risk and controls. Responsible for ensuring adherence to the governance of the established risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls including risk and control self-assessments, providing consultation on new, existing and/or changed processes, facilitating control remediation, and monitoring the first line of defense to minimize risk exposures and strengthen the overall control environment.


What You Will Do:


  • Identifies and monitors operational and strategic risks along with associated Key Risk Indicators.
  • Responsible for escalating issues and findings to appropriate stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Provides guidance in the creation and execution of Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA's).
  • Partners with business units to assess the impact of failed controls and build appropriate remediation plans.
  • Remains current on regulatory policy, program standards and work procedures ensuring proper compliance with processes and requirements are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Identifies and implements controls and procedures to mitigate risks supporting operational and strategic risk management efforts.
  • Understands and facilitates alignment among policies, program standards, work procedures and external guidelines. Identifies any gaps and drives corrective action.
  • Applies subject matter expertise across departments.
  • Acts as a liaison for all internal/external audits and communicates directly with internal/external auditors.
  • Translates control deficiencies into action plans. Contributes to the enhancement of governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.


What You Will Need:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to create processes and work procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills including high proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to lead a project and communicate results as well as carry out new policies and procedures.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and high-quality results with strong organizational skills.
