Job Description

A Human Research Business Partner plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment by aligning human resources strategies with business objectives. They collaborate closely with various departments to develop and implement HR programs and initiatives that support the organization's research goals. The Human Research Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to management, providing guidance on matters related to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with research departments to understand their objectives and develop HR strategies to support their research goals.
  2. Collaborate with management to identify workforce needs and develop effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain highly skilled researchers.
  3. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  4. Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development plans.
  5. Design and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of researchers and other employees.
  6. Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
  7. Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends and changes in employment laws and regulations, and ensure compliance in all HR practices.
  9. Support organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions, by providing HR expertise and guidance.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  2. Proven experience as an HR business partner or in a similar HR role, preferably in a research or scientific environment.
  3. In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  4. Strong understanding of the research process and the unique HR challenges in a research organization.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic HR guidance and support to management and employees.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  8. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  9. Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software and other HR tools.
  10. Certification in human resources (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
