PURPOSE STATEMENT

As a member of the Benefit CoE, the Benefits Analyst provides analytical, administrative, and implementation support for benefit design and administration of H&W and retirement benefits.

Key Accountabilities/Outcomes

  • Act as subject matter expert to respond to benefit questions and escalated issues from within Benefits Team or Associate Service Center, escalating to Benefit Manager when appropriate. Assist with content creation for Associates Service Center knowledge database when needed.
  • Ensure compliance of benefits with applicable government regulations such as ERISA, 409(A), HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA. Provide support for required annual filings, such as IRS Form 5500s, required legal notices and associate communications. Help mentor other members of Benefits team on compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for more complex areas of benefit administration such as more significant financial reconciliations, data analysis, determination, and implementation of corrective measures to resolve operational issues, non-discrimination testing, and executive benefits
  • Work closely with benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators on administration of benefit plans. Establish processes and recommend process changes by examining workflows and triaging issues. Proactively seek to enhance associate experience through ongoing process improvement and ability to leverage tools and software. Track open items with vendors and maintain logs.
  • Support Benefit CoE initiatives and projects as needed; examples include: analyzing data and summarizing results, creating dashboards or other measurement tools, and monitoring vendor performance.
  • Conduct more complex annual benefit processes such as true-up calculations, non-discrimination testing and corrections, actuarial requests, and required annual third-party independent audits. When operational failures are identified, research to determine root cause of errors, take appropriate corrective measures and make recommendation on process improvement.
  • Participate in benefit projects such as design of new and/or revised programs, establishing or improving processes, implementation of new vendors, and acquisition integration. May lead small level projects independently.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to interpret benefit documentation such as Summary Plan Descriptions, plan documents, regulatory statues/guidance, and insurance certificates
  • Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Ability to consolidate data from multiple sources and manipulate large data files
  • Completion of CEBS programs or certificate preferred
  • Exposure to US and Canadian, or Global benefits, is a plus
  • High attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or financial/accounting discipline with 5 or more years of benefit and/or analysis experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in other areas of Total Rewards preferred
  • ADP knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze data to triage issues and proactively make recommendations on solutions
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Spanish is a plus
