Position Summary

The assistant director of marketing will play an integral role in driving revenue and attendance for the Department of Athletics. Along with the marketing, sales, and communications staff, this individual will assist in increasing attendance, creating a positive and exciting game day atmosphere, increasing fan engagement, and furthering the brand of Rice Athletics.

Requirements

• Must possess (or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Texas driver's license with no more than three moving violations and/or at fault accidents within the past 36 months, and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past five years
• Skills Required
• Oral and Written communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree
• No Experience Required

Essential Functions

•Develops the communication and brand strategy for individual program(s)

•Writes, designs, and coordinates the production of communication and marketing materials

•Recommends integrated marketing plans / programs and strategies to meet business objectives

•Guides event planning and execution as needed to support marketing objectives

•Assists in vendor management on specific projects

•Conducts market research and analysis used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting

•Assesses market opportunities and track market trends

•Recommends marketing improvements based on findings

•Performs all other duties as assigned

Preferences

• Master’s Degree in related field.
