Reporting to the SVP, Client Services, the VP of Strategic Planning & Success is an experienced expert who immerses in the client’s category, target audiences, business objectives, and brand strategies to ensure The Company develops the most efficient and effective media strategy. This individual’s input ensures that media strategy and planning are aligned with each client’s distinct needs, timeframes, and resources. By articulating and aiding in the development of the role of paid, earned, and owned media within each client’s go-to-market strategy, we advance each assigned client’s business through the right priorities and focus for paid advertising, omnichannel strategy, and overall investment levels. This role ensures alignment of brand strategy with targeting strategy, taking into account each client’s objectives, company, category, market, key messaging, and other relevant dynamics. Once media is in the market, this individual monitors the vision by authoring the strategic media brief, monitoring marketing success and determining potential optimization shifts, ensuring the plan delivers maximum results and matches client expectations

Key actions in this role include:
- Driving activation planning for the Company's clients, providing strong multi-channel marketing expertise across the multi-disciplinary teams that serve the Company's clients. Drive HCP and patient journey planning, ensuring alignment with client commercialization strategy (ie, distribution strategy, managed care strategy, field force strategy, etc).
- Immersing in client categories, brand, and audience dynamics to determine how each fits into the industry; Collaborating closely with internal and agency partner teams to look for insights in the brand, the therapeutic category, the target audience, competitive, key messaging, and apply them into creating smarter Company solutions for client business (omnichannel media guidelines/parameters, target focus, KPIs and success measures).
- Considering how and why each audience may use media to achieve their goals given their assets, resources, budgets, challenges, and constraints.
- Collaborating with account and creative teams to ensure Company’s proposed media strategies are integrated within the client’s larger marketing programs and budget appropriately.
- Defining and delivering a clear strategy for why media should or should not play a role across strategic imperatives with clear rationale and supporting data in a story-telling approach to internal team members and clients.
- Developing a formal brief for media strategy and planning; briefing the team, and ensuring alignment on the vision and results needed.
- Setting clear KPIs and success metrics for all recommended programs.
- Collaborating with the analytics team to ensure KPI pull-through and articulation to the clients in regular and strategic reporting cadence to inform the marketing approach.
- Leading custom research efforts cross-functionally and with external partners in pursuit of actionable insights around key brand challenges, customer beliefs, behaviors, and needs.
- Directing and influencing the long-range planning and development of campaigns to ensure the best use of organizational resources, consulting with the media and client service teams to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

- Interfacing directly with senior-level client decision-makers during strategic planning and results reviews while still enabling your Account Services team and Project Manager to effectively lead the day-to-day working relationship with The Company.
This critical role is also one of the strategic contributions and consulting advisement to agency leadership and teams. In this capacity, the Strategist will:
- Contribute actively to marketing and business development efforts by delivering strategy and insights for RFPs, pitches, proposals, and POVs.
- Develop case studies that are written strategically for a client audience, and communicate why the programs worked or required re-planning

- Drive the agency’s thought leadership activities in pinpointing opportunities to deliver client POVs on timely digital matters, contributes topics and content for external marketing efforts, and host internal training sessions on core therapeutic areas, target audiences, insight identification, and digital innovation.
- Aid team in developing client requirements and scopes for strategic planning and research efforts.
- Advise leadership on strategic research tools and syndicated subscriptions to invest in and leverage.
- Develops SOPs together with company leadership for standardization across client win, onboarding, delivery of strategy, cadence, and format of in-marketing pull-through.
- Provide innovation leadership and new frameworks through a compelling storytelling approach
Job Requirements:
- 10- 15 years of experience which must include brand strategy, success measurement, and analytics pull-through for predominantly pharmaceutical brands.
- Must have knowledge of omnichannel media channels to align with strategic brand goals.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally fluidly.
- Confidentally articulating recommendations both verbally and with persuasive written presentations.
- Collaboratively enrolling clients in recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of promotional tactics for HCPs and patients.
- Expert PowerPoint and presentation skills.
