Job Title: Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Come join our talented Finance team as our VP of FP&A. This is a strategic and high-profile role that will influence and drive strategic decision making throughout the company. You have a passion for telling a story with numbers, evaluating underlying business trends, delivering real commercial insights and for driving change, accountability and scale.
This role reports to the CFO and will work closely with the entire senior leadership team and all departments at Delinea.
Essential Functions
Corporate planning and analysis:
- Lead annual and long-term planning cycle for the business; establish timeline, assumptions and investment framework in partnership with CFO and senior leaders.
- Build upon existing financial reporting for key external constituents including investors and lenders.
- Develop analytical and repeatable framework for capital allocation in partnership with CFO.
- Own income statement, balance sheet and cash flow outlook that aligns with GAAP reporting.
- Ensure all planning, forecasting and reporting is completed on a timely basis.
- Lead monthly financial reporting for the business to support monthly operating review discussions with management and investors. Establish a metrics-based approach to explaining key business drivers that also creates action-oriented insights for the team.
Business Partnership:
- Build a monthly reporting package that quickly highlights results and insights in a graphical manner.
- Partner with department leaders and budget owners to understand challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented approach. Establish recurring meetings with your team to ensure ongoing dialog.
- Lead various business case analyses related to GTM expansion, solutions strategy and/or infrastructure development.
- Maintain a close eye on cash utilization with an orientation toward identifying savings and improving operational efficiency.
- Develop strong business partnership with a growth-oriented mindset and an innate ability to enable business leaders to make better decisions and improve performance.
- Own production of business unit and product level P&Ls to inform decisions and investment allocations.
- Ability to engage partners in constructive debate to balance different perspectives and goals with the ultimate objective to arrive at a ‘win-win’ for all parties.
Strategic Analysis:
- Evaluate and communicate key insights around Delinea’s GTM model.
- Partner across the org on various project-based analyses.
- Develop a solid understanding of market peers
- Enhance existing KPI reporting and analysis to highlight business drivers and actions. Ensure deep understanding of KPI definitions and comparison to market.
Operations:
- Lead systems and process optimization projects and other ad hoc assignments as required.
- Partner with Accounting and other key leaders across the company to support monthly close activities and BVA analysis.
- Build deep relationships with Sales and Sales Ops to support commissions reporting, sales model analysis and daily deal activity.
- Lead effective utilization of Adaptive Insights.
- Drive process improvement: identify manual processes, increase standardization, and accelerate adoption of automation.
Team:
- Develop and coach the team to support its goals, alignment to business activities and impact.
- Establish goals and metrics for team performance in line with our corporate objectives.
- Scale a world class FP&A function – one that is recognized across the company for delivering data, analyses, and commercial insights that inform decision making and optimize business outcomes.
Skills and Requirements
- Very high attention to detail coupled with ability to step back and assess the big picture.
- 15-20+ years of experience, in both private and public company environments, including extensive software experience.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with a positive attitude and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling a team coupled with driving automation in daily activities.
- Proven success as an FP&A leader in a high growth environment.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, Concur, etc. and business intelligence tools and data visualization concepts preferred.
- Strong command of GAAP accounting including familiarity with ASC 606 and various equity-based instruments along with the associated financial impact (e.g., expense, share count).
- Excellent communication skills and even better listening skills to get the “voice of the internal customer” and to understand the company culture.
- Analytical mindset, but also creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches
