ACCO Engineered Systems was founded in 1934 as Air Conditioning Company (ACCO), a proprietorship, by Ira Prentiss Fulmor at 1005 Santa Fe Street, Los Angeles. The former name of the company was chosen to indicate what the company did because few people knew about air conditioning. In 1949, the business moved from downtown Los Angeles to Glendale where it transformed from an air conditioning distributor to become an independent corporation. After 70 years in Glendale, ACCO moved to its headquarters to 888 East Walnut Street in Pasadena. Jeffrey Marrs became ACCO’s fifth President & CEO in 2016.
The Head of Human Resources.
As a key member of the ACCO Engineered Systems Executive team, the Head of Human Resources will help drive the vision and strategy for Human Resources necessary to support the business goals and initiatives. The Head of Human Resources will guide the people programs to support overall organizational goals, establish HR centers-of-excellence through team development and programs, act as an advisor and consultant to leadership, and lead the HR function and team.
What you will do.
- Provide leadership and focus the human resources team to deliver on the priorities across the range of HR disciplines that leadership trusts, relies on, and seeks partnership. Develops an HR team with the appropriate level of internal and HR expertise to support the organization on People-related situations and needs.
- Provide guidance with respect to business ethics and be the voice that reminds the company to always do the right thing on behalf of its employees along with reinforcing our values and culture.
- Translate employee and organizational people needs into HR approaches that are simple, relevant and add value to management and the company. Continuously review and refine to develop HR centers-of-excellence related to Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Core HR.
- Serve as a collaborative partner and provide overall leadership and guidance to Company leaders around People situations through a business lens, ensuring the best outcomes for the company.
- Participates and leads HR strategic goal setting to drive the People initiatives aligned with the Company’s overall objectives. Tracks by utilizing Management By Objectives (MBO), Performance Assessment, Manpower and Succession planning or equal methodology.

Experience Requirements.
- Exposure to Payroll, Union, ESOP, Multi-site/Multi State and Acquisitions/Integration experience is a value add.
- 15+ years of Human Resources experience and 7+ years of Human Resources leadership experience with companies that have high performance cultures and where the Human Resources function is recognized as a business partner.
- Possess an undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or related field.
- Proven HR leadership in developing new efficient and effective business processes and implementation and leading geographically dispersed HR teams.
- Proven experience in all areas of HR with a strong focus on talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, benefits, HRM, employee relations, and compliance.
- Must have experience leading a regional or national HR function with at least 5 years of experience in an HR executive role.
- Capacity to travel up to 20% of the time.

Benefits include a total compensation package inclusive of a competitive base salary along with short- and long-term performance incentives, Employee Ownership (ESOP Equity), and a full suite of health and wellness benefits.
$205,000 to $275,000 Annual Salary. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
