Job Description
The Role:
The VP, Global Planning will have the opportunity to define and build the global planning business processes, organization, and governance. This role is responsible for all supply planning, material planning, product lifecycle implementation, artwork management, across commercial products and clinical programs. In addition, the role is responsible for managing our supply network end-to-end. The VP, Global Planning leads the S/C&OP cycles and scenario analysis for business decisions. This leader will serve on the Supply Chain Leadership Team. They must adopt a way of working that will improve the end-to-end Moderna Supply Chain both in terms of customer satisfaction and operating efficiency and effectiveness.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
  • Ensure a valid demand translation of commercial and clinical forecasts through planning cycles (S/C&OP) including capacity management to establish production and purchase plans required to achieve commercial and clinical customer requirements, includes LCM implementation (variation & launch)
  • Accountable for completeness, accuracy, and stability of clinical supply product net requirements across portfolio
  • Responsible for supply and production planning processes aligned with SAP system capabilities
  • The ability to attract and recruit top talent, motivate the team, delegate effectively, celebrate diversity within the team, and manage performance; widely viewed as a strong developer of others.
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management focused on the strategic supplier oversight for critical raw materials, devices and packaging components
  • Responsible for global raw material, component, and packaging materials management.
  • Ensures controls on product planning parameters and advanced planning functionalities across network to drive planning accuracy and balanced inventory at decoupling points.
  • Lead a team of 30+ professionals across supply network planning, lifecyle implementation and product management, and artwork management
  • Directs Supply Scenario Analysis across the supply network within the tactical horizon, makes supply response proposals to balance capacities.
  • Responsible for driving End-to-End Turn Around Time (TAT), COGm, and Capacity Management within the supply network to optimize supply responsiveness.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Education: University degree in technology, engineering, or management/business administration
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate with senior CMC Management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment – you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships on a daily basis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to navigate a matrix organization structure to influence without direct reporting relationships
  • Well organized – a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate and conduct your work
  • You drive for results – you set a high bar for yourself and others. You love what you do, and it shows
  • Experience: 20+ years in various Supply Chain, Project Management, and Manufacturing functions (strong preference towards Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience)
  • Good power point skills to visualize complex content in an easy to view manner would be a big plus
  • Experience in process management and production planning
  • Ideally, APICS certification and SAP experience
