Tier A: $138,600 - $221, 600
Tier B: $151,100 - $241,500

What You’ll Do
The VP, Executive Talent is focused on ensuring Teach For America has the most diverse and highest caliber network of Executive Directors leading change in our communities. You will be charged with setting vision and direction for our executive talent lifecycle strategy, starting from talent acquisition, ending at executive offboarding, and considering everything in between. You will partner with our Talent Acquisition team to build robust recruitment and bench building strategies; and partner with senior management and our in-house executive coach to design onboarding and in-year performance management systems. Your work is focused on ensuring our executives have foundational skills to lead and have a strong grasp on their progress and opportunities for growth. You will partner with executives to design thoughtful succession plans to sustain our impact in communities through transitions. And you will manage and evolve our Executive Director profile to meet the needs of our organization and our communities.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
The VP, Executive Talent is a new role and will be testing a new way of getting work done, thus the responsibilities and outputs of the role will evolve. In year 1 you will:
Theme 1: Executive Talent Lifecycle & Performance Management
  • Invent and manage implementation of effective performance management system to strengthen efficacy of executive leadership body
  • Ensure 100% of executives have succession plans in place
  • Develop executive talent management approach for all aspects of the ED lifecycle, inclusive of onboarding, ongoing development, retention, and succession planning, to offboarding
  • Build systems and approach to manage ED transitions and interim capacity in regions
  • Manage talent dashboard to provide real-time data on the strength of executive body
  • Design and build executive onboarding tools and experiences
Theme 2: Executive Director Talent Cultivation & Hiring
  • Lead executive cultivation strategy to create a robust, diverse, and high caliber executive talent pool that is ready to lead in our organization
  • Closely partner with the talent team and senior management to assess risks, strengths, and opportunities in approach to executive talent
  • Partner with Talent team to create organizational approach and systems to executive hiring
  • Lead efforts to successfully matriculate selected candidate
Theme 3: Executive Director (ED) Role Profile Management
  • Build knowledge of ED profile across organization to ensure alignment in outcomes and support
  • Ensure Executive Director role profile meets the demands of organizational imperatives and what is required to lead change in our communities
  • In partnership with in-house executive coach and senior management, design an approach to continuous executive learning and development, rooted in the ED profile
Theme 4: Organizational Leadership & Contribution
  • Contribute to organizational-wide shifts & key focus areas as needed
  • Select next wave of leaders throughout the annual admissions cycle

Each week our team will focus on the most pressing work to advance change across our communities and towards our 10 year goal. Our team’s priorities will be responsive to the needs of the field and transparent. As needs change, so will our priorities and members of our team need to be prepared and willing to shift work as needed.
Your Experience
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
  • Track record of building senior-level relationships
  • Strong content and collateral development
  • 10+ years of related professional experience
  • Track record of successful executive cultivation and hiring
  • Previous experience building and leading performance development systems
  • Expertise in executive talent management

The NEW Field Impact & Integration Team is comprised of :45 Executive Directors (EDs), :16 Impact/Integration Team Leaders and :20 Learning Team Leaders. We are organized in 4 sub-teams that work together and in partnership with our Program/Product Impact Teams (ex: C4, Alumni Career Center, Ignite) and our Capability Teams (ex: Recruitment, Technology, Equity & Belonging) to deliver on promises of impact to communities and students. Your Compensation
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $138,600 - $221, 600
Tier B: $151,100 - $241,500
Tier C: $163,500 - $261,500
