This position supports the firm’s Talent Development initiative by providing firm wide career development coaching through a Gallup CliftonStrengths-based lens. The Talent Coach will work with individuals and teams of attorneys and business professionals to help them recognize their potential by focusing on strengths, form stronger teams, and excel within their career. In addition, the Talent Coach will provide career development coaching and programming that supports the firm’s overall coaching strategy. Essential functions include:


  • Leverages external coaching certification and resources to enhance the strengths-based strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with Client Development to align and integrate business development coaching strategies into career and strengths-based coaching.
  • Develops solution evaluation criteria and means to measure business impact and ROI at the individual and team level.
  • Engage leaders and employees in the learning process and help them interpret their Gallup CliftonStrengths results.
  • Facilitate strengths-based team meetings to debrief on assessment results, providing recommendations on how to incorporate each team members’ strengths.
  • Use data, analytics and insights to enable evidence-based approach to continuously assess and demonstrate impact.
  • Continually invest in self-development by remaining current with new developments, technologies, industry trends and innovations.
  • Incorporates successful strategies and tools for managers to use to highlight the collective strengths and professional growth within their team.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Prepare and adhere to initiative budgets.
  • Partner with internal leaders to identify coaching opportunities.
  • Provides career development and strengths-based coaching to lawyers and business professionals throughout the organization in alignment with the firm’s overall coaching strategy.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Talent Officer, Director of Professional Development and Director of Culture & Talent Integration to develop and implement an overall coaching strategy that is career development and strengths-based.
  • Design, develop, and implement strategic programs in alignment with the department’s overall coaching strategy and own end-to-end planning and execution of assigned programs.
  • Elicit participation in strengths-based programming by developing and facilitating engaging and impactful leadership and employee experiences at all levels in a variety of modalities, including virtual, in-person, online, and hybrid.
  • Works with Director of Culture & Talent Integration and Strengths Coach Manager to provide strengths coaching and consultation across the firm consistent with the culture and strengths strategies.
  • Partner effectively with internal teams and leaders to transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborates closely with Talent colleagues to identify and create training that enhances the growth of our lawyers and business professionals and addresses development needs. May participate in the design and delivery of training workshops.


Position Requirements


  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent and effectively drive new initiatives in partnership with other firm departments
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and composure in stressful situations.
  • 3-5 years’ work experience as a certified coach with a focus on Strengths coaching, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Gallup Strengths coach certification preferred.
  • 8-10 years of relevant talent development experience with coaching responsibilities preferably in a law firm or professional services organization.
  • Coaching certification required preferably through an ICF program.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and events.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work after hours, as needed.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and ability to establish credibility, build trust, and develop positive working relationships with team members, firm leadership, lawyers, and other professionals.
  • Exceptional judgment, flexibility, and professionalism.

Compensation And Benefits


Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:


  • State of Colorado: $67,000 - $120,000
  • State of Washington: $71,000 - $135,000
  • State of California: $73,000 - $140,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $79,000 - $144,000
  • State of New York: $68,000 - $147,000


The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
