Sr Director, Neuroscience

Our San Francisco based biotech client who is pioneering a novel RNAi therapeutic modality is seeking a senior leader to join us as a Sr Director of Neuroscience who will build and lead a Neuroscience group. The position will play an integral role in building the company's Neuroscience portfolio and target strategy. This role will require full time onsite work their research facilities in South San Francisco area.

Responsibilities:

• Develop the Neuroscience portfolio and target strategy.
• Build and lead a Neuroscience group.
• Interface and work closely with the Biology and Chemistry departments in establishing a robust Neuroscience portfolio.
• Develop all necessary in vitro and in vivo models of disease targets.
• Work closely with senior leadership and hold responsibility for communicating strategy, methodology, and other information to drive programs forward.

Required Qualifications:

• A track record in Neuroscience drug discovery and hands-on working knowledge of target discovery in the CNS
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in academia, biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated accomplishments
• Experience in drug discovery and development
• Proven record of accomplishments in target discovery in Neuroscience, leading teams, developing portfolio strategy, exceptional people management and communication skills
• A history of authoring publications and/or study reports
• A deep commitment to working as part of teams to deliver breakthrough medicines
• Excellent communications, organization, and time management skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Ph.D. in Neuroscience
