HPE is seeking a Datacenter Operations Site Manager to oversee the delivery, buildout, and ongoing operations of the core infrastructure and foundational technologies in support of the Supercomputing as a Service (SCaaS) business. This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on a key business with considerable growth potential. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team deploying and maintaining solutions that will support a scaling customer base.
This role will be performed onsite in Dallas.
Primary Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain all security and data management protocols as defined by the security architects and system admins
- Assigns tasks to technicians and monitors progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Primary regional point of contact and manager for our Supercomputing-as-a-Service system
- Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies
- Manage system startup and shutdown, including hardware replacement as necessary
- Intimate understanding of the overall system, including the various system components and functionality as required to be an effective operations manager
- Ensure technicians are trained on procedures for installation, deployment, replacement, and post-execution quality check processes
- Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing datacenter solutions
- Oversee data center operations maintenance and sustainability, including defining processes for installing, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and diagnostics assessment
- Provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications
- Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of datacenter engagements
Experience and Skills
- Experience working in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 datacenter environment
- Experience leading diverse, technical, or IT workforce of up to ten employees
- Deep understanding of high-performance computing
- Hands on experience with the tools and infrastructure to support HPC systems at scale including networking and storage
- BS in Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent
- Strong collaborator and ability to work well in a team environment
- Applicable certifications: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC), Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Six Sigma Green Belt
- Excellent communication skills
- 5+ years of team supervision or management
