Hiring – Remote Position

Position Summary

Avantage Entertainment is creating a new form of live entertainment – part social gaming, part real-money gaming, part sports betting, part mind-blowing experience. We are seeking an SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) with experience in cloud-based Kubernetes to join our team building massive multiplayer online games for mobile and web platforms. This position is focused on supporting the implementation of Kubernetes in the AWS cloud, but there will be many opportunities to explore other cutting-edge technologies in gaming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with development of DevOps solutions, participating in projects from inception to completion in Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Support the implementation of Red Hat’s OpenShift Kubernetes platform across five distinct AWS environments.
• Generates technical documentation to communicate design and build options.
• Constantly understands internal customer problems and continuously looks for new innovations to provide solutions.
• Completes complex project deliverables ahead of schedule.
• Collaborate with a team of internationally based engineers.
• Support the ongoing development of our gaming platform and its connections to the Kubernetes solution.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Proactively researches new capabilities and trends and reports findings to senior leadership.
• Support our DevOps team with management of application deployments using GitOps tooling in the Kubernetes environment.
• Support security best practices implementation, adherence to ISO 27001 compliance, and CIS benchmarks.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Experience in CI/CD development environment.
• Strong detail orientation, time management skills, dependability, and flexibility required (our team spans at least 12 time zones).
• Familiarity with unit test, continuous integration, and version control.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent occupational experience.
• Experience and/or familiarity with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
• Infrastructure-as-code, serverless, and/or Terraform familiarity.
• In-depth experience in Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift preferred).
• Excited to learn new technology.
• Strong preference for experience with GitOps.
• Solid experience with at least one scripting language (Bash and Python are good examples).
• Live streaming / video distribution is a bonus.
• Experience in an AWS or other cloud environment.
• Gaming experience a plus.
• Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for technology.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
