POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for strategic sourcing. Driving cost, quality and delivery improvements, for direct materials, supplied to our Mexico, US and Canadian manufacturing plants.
Cost
- Generate RFQ’s to validate incumbent supplier has best in class cost.
- Platform on best cost / best performing products across all brands & business divisions.
- Monitor cost drivers, lead inflation mitigation & deflation recovery negotiations.
- Qualify alternative suppliers to drive competition.
- Identifies and tracks cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities and builds a culture of long-term savings without compromising supply assurance or quality.
Quality
- Develop capability of chronic performing suppliers, define & execute exit plan if performance does not improve.
- Track cost of poor quality, for supplier related issues recover 100% of costs.
- Analyze warranty claims + pareto. Collaborate with vendors to implement changes to improve durability.
- Partner with internal team & suppliers, to resolve incoming rejects, leveraging 5 why’s + root cause and CAP.
- Co-ordinate on-site audits, to validate supplier’s technical capability and quality systems.
Delivery
- Evaluate ways to take cost out of the supply chain (alternative transport modes, alternative carriers, in bond shipments etc).
- Implement strategies to improve service levels (Kanban, localization, local warehousing etc).
- Driving working capital improvements, without increasing inventory $’s (pay terms, MOQ’s).
- Identify & mitigate longer term supply risk (dual sourcing, capacity expansion, financial health checks).
- Support plant Buyers, to help resolve short term supply challenges, exploring all opportunities to maintain supply continuity.
New Product Introductions
- Support project team throughout development phase (samples, FA reports, line trials & pilot builds).
- Lead supplier evaluation and selection process (RFQ, validate quote, quality audit and technical reviews).
- Set up robust supply chain, designed to drive velocity & flexibility.
- Negotiate unit price, pay terms, MOQ’s, lead times & supply agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related degree
- Familiarity with working in a high-volume, highly dynamic, rapid-paced environment
- Ability to draft contractual agreements and other documents suitable for presentation to intermediate and senior level internal associates.
- Change management skills
- Experience in contract negotiation with vendors supplying direct materials, indirect goods & services, and transportation areas a must
- RFI, RFQ, RFP and/or bid analysis experience a plus
- Ability to perform complex financial analyses, write macros, develop formulas and use functions such as pivot and lookup tables
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Experience in negotiating pricing, purchase contract terms and conditions (including statements of work (SOWs) a must
- A moderate to complex level of knowledge in:
- Ability to work within a cross functional team and influence others without authority
- Experience managing sourcing, process improvement or related projects from start to finish
- Financial analysis knowledge, including complex modeling and problem-solving skills
