The Strategic Sourcing Organization at American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) is responsible for the enterprise-wide sourcing and contracting strategy with third-party vendors to best support our business units at GBT in accordance with policy. As new products and technologies are constantly being introduced into the market, GBT must remain on the forefront and continue to improve our vendor partnerships, build enterprise value, and optimize the employee experience.

The Strategic Sourcing Optimization Manager will be a part of the team responsible for process improvement, effective contract lifecycle management, vendor data & analytics, audit controls, Sourcing tools & technology, and overall program improvements to drive efficiencies and value to our customers, vendors, and employees. These efforts are in tight-knit collaboration with a number of teams and partners including legal, risk & compliance, information security, privacy, and finance to ensure GBT has a strategic, effective and compliant vendor program.

As a member of the Strategic Sourcing Organization, you will be part of a diverse and dedicated team who support the following categories:

• Sourcing Optimization and Operations, supporting the organization through efficiencies in process, tools, policies, financial and business reporting and analysis, and vendor and VRM communications including facilitation of questions, partner concerns, and guidance
• Corporate Services including HR Services, Marketing & Communication, Facilities, Professional Services, Audit Services, Consulting, and Tax & Audit Services
• Product, Platform, & Technology including IT Software, Hardware, Software Maintenance, SaaS, Information Security, IT Labor, Telecom, Infrastructure, Financial Systems, and various internal and client-facing applications

For this role, we are looking for an experienced and driven Technical Project Manager capable of supporting a wide range of business functions with thoughtful data driven analysis, strategic project management, and technical savvy, collaborating with partners to turn ideas into clear actions that can help drive value, cost savings, improved partnerships, and responsible sourcing to the organization.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

• Support responsible sourcing in accordance with third-party vendor management processes and policies in preparation for annual EcoVadis certifications
• Involvement in additional or special projects and strategies that aim to create new revenue streams and / or cost reductions to enhance the organization’s value
• Drive improvements within the end-to-end vendor intake to offboarding process through enhanced tools, technology, and communications to ensure appropriate governance and controls are in place to satisfy all audit requirements
• Collaborate with business partners and leaders to share and improve data insights in support of third-party vendor management rationalization requirements for additional savings and strategic partnership opportunities
• Improve the Strategic Sourcing value proposition by the ongoing introduction, project strategic direction, and implementation of Sourcing tools, technology, and process improvements to bring speed to contract value to the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, with a focus on Strategic and / or Technical Project or Organizational Change a plus
• Experience in the following areas a strong plus:
• Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain principles
• Working with ESG initiatives across third-party vendor programs
• Advanced skills with Excel, PowerBI, and data aggregation
• Critical thinking and thought leadership capabilities
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Financial competence and analytical skills and comfortable working with huge datasets
• DocuSign CLM, Netsuite, and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps
• Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects with external / internal partners.
• Analytical, detail oriented, organized, and ability to work as a team or independently
• Experience in implementing procurement tools / workflows
• Strong and proven technical operations experience with a focus on process improvement
• Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills across various areas of the business including working with remote teams

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
