Job Description

Recently acquired by Blackstone Private Equity, CoreTrust is growing rapidly and we’re looking for a dynamic Director of Contracts and Sourcing, Business Services.


Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for negotiating industry leading national agreements with business service categories to include office supplies, janitorial/sanitation supplies, office furniture, travel, merchant processing products and services, corporate purchase and travel cards, and expense management and payment solutions. The goal is to ensure best in class industry pricing and contractual terms and conditions.


A strong candidate will have expertise in contract negotiations and contract terms and conditions relevant to the business services industry. You should demonstrate a high ceiling for adaptability and learning and with support from your manager, exercise judgment in selecting and/or adapting methods for obtaining solutions, taking a new perspective on leveraging existing solutions to solve complex problems. Additionally, you may provide project leadership for back-office internal teams like finance, contract administration, etc.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee supplier relationship end-to-end, from sourcing process to participation in supplier business reviews to reviewing new product in assigned categories
  • Collaborate with internal teams including legal, finance, marketing, account management, and more
  • Point of escalation for supplier and/or customer issues
  • Serve as the contractual subject matter expert to support sales team and their customer engagements
  • Champion business process change, organizational change, and cultural change -- could include leading process improvement or training initiatives
  • Own sourcing process including market research, bid preparation, RFI, Strategy Development & Validation, RFP, Contract Negotiations, and contract launch
  • Develop contract strategy, formulating a clear vision and articulating steps to achieve the negotiation objectives
  • Investigate new supplier entrants to market, understanding the multi-business unit supplier and how they will leverage their capabilities
  • Serve as the expert on suppliers to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, and anticipate market trends and supplier direction by interpreting supplier SEC filings, annual reports, or analyst reports, discussing future product pipelines with suppliers, reviewing current or future technology, and representing CoreTrust at supplier site-visits
  • Meet or exceed financial and operational goals in the annual contracting plan with existing and future categories
  • Independently plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories and category expansion efforts


Qualifications

  • Understanding or demonstrated ability to learn in-depth aspects of portfolio including product features and benefits, product comparisons between supplier offerings, operational impact to provider, future product pipeline and impact on market, cost drivers (direct and indirect), market dynamics to include commodity and relevant indices, and end-user groups and sensitivities they have towards the products
  • Excellent oral, written communication skills, and presentation skills required, to interface effectively with supplier and customer executives
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create or interpret potentially complex financial models
  • Experience interpreting complex instructions, proposals, and contract language
  • Ability to identify problems independently and demonstrate creativity in developing alternative solutions and recommendations
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in strategic sourcing and negotiating a variety of contracts in the business services industry
  • Understanding or aptitude to learn the product categories assigned and category expansion opportunities, as well as how end-users interface with the products and relevancy to our customers
  • Keen awareness to market and supplier dynamics, with the ability to leverage them for optimal outcomes
  • Ability to start with the desired end-result, goal or objective as communicated by executive management and take action to accomplish
  • Certifications like CPSM or industry specific certifications preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Formal negotiation training is preferred
