At Acuity Edge, Inc. , we are building a world-class People Team and as a result, we’re looking for an organizational powerhouse who can manage a wide variety of processes within the People Operations function. This exceptional leader will manage all facets of operations through the employee life cycle across our Canadian and US teams including onboarding, benefits, maintaining and updating the employee handbook and policies, HRIS implementation & management, leave management, health and safety, building out dashboards and reporting, executing the performance enablement process, delegating and managing employee queries and employee offboarding.
ThePeople Operations Managerwill partner with our exceptional Senior Business Partners and Payroll function to support our client groups. The People Operations Manager will report into the Director, People Operations and will manage a small and growing team of Coordinators and Specialists to ensure the People Ops side of the business is running smoothly.

- Collaborate regularly with the Senior People Ops Business Partner to assist in projects.
- Own and manage digital tools and HRIS platforms (e.g. HRIS, performance, time & attendance), including the PEO for our US population; ensuring data accuracy and process improvement. Accountable for executing and maintaining our Leave management program, including parental leaves.
- Support our compensation, benefits and GRSP, base pay and bonus programs and our continuous performance management/feedback program.
- Research and develop company policies and SOPs for our HQ and retail teams as we scale to support business needs in partnership with the Senior Business Partner and Director of People Operations.
- Partner with our finance team on payroll queries, processes and information flow related to payroll.
- Co-Chair of the health & safety program for Acuity Edge, Inc. ensuring a safe place to work for our HQ office, retail stores, and remote environment.
- Manage all People Operations functions, such as onboarding/offboarding, benefit & compensation administration, visa-related requests, payroll support, and leave of absence management, for employee groups across Canada & the US.
- Accountable for the weekly People Newsletters in partnership with the entire People team. Support internal communications to provide greater transparency on all levels.
- Own the administration of group benefits, providing information and support to employees as required.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to manage and analyze data from multiple sources to provide recommendations & create best practices.
- You are a collaborative team player with critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a people-first perspective.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least three years at the Generalist or Manager level.
- Working knowledge of contract law pertaining to building and interpreting employment contracts, as well as experience in benefits administration & interpretation of group policy.
- You have experience working in a scaling organizational environment with demonstrated understanding & implementation of emerging technologies and trends.
- Knowledge of Canadian Labor laws: policies, procedures, compliance and practices related to Workplace Health and Safety, Employment Standards Act, etc.; additional knowledge of US, California labor & employment laws would be an asset.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, influencing and collaborating with leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of organizational structures, aligning HR strategy to business objectives, and understanding how to improve employee experience through employee lifecycle management.
