Ripple Effect is looking for a Communications Generalist with 4 years of experience to support our client’s mission. This role will work closely with the Communications & Outreach Division to work with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to craft, plan, and provide clear and thoughtful communications to support our clients and business internally and externally.

• Salary Range: $67,392 to $72,000 per year (how we pay and promote)
• Employee Type: Exempt, Full-Time Regular (Ask our recruiters about flexible work arrangements)

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and editing product sheets, social media updates, and other printed/digital materials
• Gather and conduct initial analysis of internal and external measures and metrics
• Support communications activities that describe and promote the organization or initiatives
• Organize content for marketing, communications, events, calendars, presentations, and reports
• May provide specialized expertise including social media, content expertise, writing and editing, or multimedia development
• Track and document media coverage of company activities
• Perform other duties related to the core functions of the job
• Assist in managing events and associated logistics
• Assist in developing and implementing internal communications via intranet, printed copies, banners etc
• Execute communication plans, draft documents, capture meeting action items and communicate tasks and status to team members

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience

• 4 years of applicable experience
• Bachelors Degree

Basic Requirements

• Ability to work with virtual teams (use of intranet and instant messenger to communicate)
• Experience with proposal development
• Excellent grammatical/punctuation skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Word
• Ability to edit materials as directed to meet client needs
• Ability to work productively and collaboratively in SharePoint to accomplish tasks
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong ability to create content for a variety of audiences
• Ability to perform substantive editing of complex technical documents and plain language content

Skills That Set You Apart

• Experience in Public Health or Health Policy
• Experience with government consulting
• Knowledge of 508 compliance
• Proficiency in editing scientific reports appropriate for both print and web publication
• Interest in working in various software programs 
• Knowledge and experience with user experience (UX) design
• Strong working knowledge of references such as the GPO, AMA, and AP style manuals
• HHS experience especially NIH and CMS
