Venture Trailers, Inc. is seeking an outgoing, innovative, and knowledgeable Human Resources Manager to join our growing team!This position provides support in all functional areas of Human Resources. In addition, you will build strong relationships across various levels of employees to help them with their human resources needs.As an HR Department of one, the right candidate will be self-sufficient and able to maintain the department while prioritizing the various tasks of the day.

Let's get to the point. Yes, we are looking for all of the responsibilities and qualifications below however what's important to us is we find someone that fits our culture. We are a family-owned business, not corporate. We want someone that has the ability to work hard, be stern when needed yet also be able to have fun. We want someone that can engage our employees with things like Employee Spirit Days (which currently includes themes like Wear Your PJ's to Work Day or Beer Lovers Day) or Fall Fridays where we have fall-related cocktails and treats. Creating a fun atmosphere is just as important to us as managing employee relations.

For those of you that are still reading this, this position would be best suited for someone that has HR experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. We have between 65-85 employees at any given time.

This position is available part-time (25-30 hours per week) or full-time (35+ hours) but cannot be a mix of both. Part-time schedules can be discussed as far as days and times as we are flexible.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performance management process.
• Process weekly payroll through Paychex.
• Ensures compliance of company policies, procedures and legal responsibilities on the Local, State and Federal levels.
• Support the management with disciplinary and grievance issues.
• Track and manage leave administration.
• Oversee employee life-cycle, which includes new hire orientation, on-boarding efforts and employee termination process.
• Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
• Workers compensation and COBRA administration.
• Maintain employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements.
• Provide guidance to management on Venture policies and procedures.
• Develop and conduct training and development programs for all levels of employees.
• Benefits administration including open enrollment, change reporting and employee communications.
• One of our favorites: employee engagement! Create and direct fun activities/events for our employees.
• Oversee recruitment process, including but not limited to: identifying where employment positions are needed within the company, post job ads, schedule and conduct interviews, and hiring.

Qualifications

• A positive, friendly and helpful demeanor
• Previous experience in Paychex or ADP a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, multitasking is essential
• 5 years HR Generalist experience OR 2+ years HR Management experience
• HRIS experience a plus.
• Experience with HR processes
• Exceptional verbal and written skills
• Must have in-depth knowledge of Local, State and Federal employment laws
• Problem-solving with the ability to prioritize
• A reputation of discretion, integrity, flexibility, good judgement and common sense
• Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google Docs, Sheets
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources required
• Organized and detail-oriented
