Job Description

SUMMARY

The Sales Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and growth of profitable new aircraft sales; develop and maintain effective key relationships. This position will also ensure business growth through directing and managing business development activities to ensure that they are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide detailed feedback on customer interaction to leadership and develop strategies to take the opportunity to the next stage; leading to a close.
  • Advising the VP Sales & Marketing, Global Program Management, Senior Director Business Development and other members of the leadership team on all business development matters.
  • Working closely with the Sales Team to focus MDH Business Development efforts.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Know and understand the implications of business decisions and the financial impact on the company.
  • Identifying new commercial and military customers for the MD products, including 500, 600, and 902 class helicopters.
  • Planning, directing, and managing Sales activities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be able to build, present, and speak on behalf of aircraft competitive analysis materials.
  • Developing market intelligence to help focus MDH Business Development efforts.
  • Visiting and establishing relationships with prospective MDH customers.
  • Developing multi-year bookings and sales forecasts to help MDH grow the business and meet the annual operating plan.
  • Hunt and farm opportunities to maintain and grow a constant pipeline of customers.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database system experience required.
  • Demonstrate in-depth sales and marketing techniques, and financial principles required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Up to 70% travel within the Central and South American territory required with significant customer interface.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - creative thinker with exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues is required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload within department.
  • Access to Export Control Information.
  • The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required.
  • Ability to successfully coordinate efforts of staff outside of individual’s span of authority.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • English/territory specific multi-language a plus.
  • Two plus years of previous aircraft sales experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A&P license preferred.

Pilot’s license preferred.
