Key Responsibilities
Molecular and Cellular Biology Techniques:
As a valuable member of our team, you will be involved in a variety of experiments within molecular biology and protein chemistry. Proficiency in tissue/cell culture, molecular cloning, real-time PCR techniques, and the cultivation and maintenance of diverse cancer cell lines is crucial. Additionally, expertise in subcloning DNA expression plasmids, executing mutagenesis experiments, and working with protein overexpression and purification are highly desired skills.
Mice Work
You will play a pivotal role in the handling of experimental mice, encompassing tasks such as injecting tumor cells into nude mice, monitoring tumor growth, extracting tumor samples, isolating DNA and RNA from tumors, and conducting immunohistochemistry using cryostat and paraffin sectioning methods. Furthermore, genotyping and managing transgenic mouse crossings will be a part of your responsibilities.
General Laboratory Duties
An openness to acquiring new methods and techniques is essential, as you may be required to adapt to various experimental demands. Flexibility in working hours and the ability to operate specialized equipment will be necessary. You will maintain an organized repository of molecular biology reagents and biospecimens, ensuring accurate labeling of all samples and an ample supply of necessary materials.
Tissue Culture
Your expertise in sterile techniques will be invaluable as you engage in human and murine cell cultures. Proficiency in cell counting, cell viability assays, cryogenic cell storage, and infection/transfection techniques is expected.
Data Collection
Maintain meticulous records of experimental designs and results. Present data through textual descriptions, graphs, slides, figures, and tables. Stay updated with the latest literature and incorporate findings into experimental design and presentations.
Additional Responsibilities
Undertake additional duties as assigned by the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences.
A minimum of one year of experience in scientific or experimental research work. Preferred degree holders require no prior experience.
