Job Description

About Your Role:

The Research Analyst will develop robust, full-scale rubrics to evaluate personal loan providers, which will then be used to support product reviews and round ups for Investopedia. You will be tasked with constructing accurate, highly defensible rubrics to evaluate and score companies we’re recommending to our readers. This is a 3-month, 40 hours-per-week role, with the possibility of part-time opportunities after the contract ends.

About Your Contributions:

  • 15% Lead and assist other financial service research (ex: investing & trading, insurance, etc.) as needed
  • 75% Partner with the research lead and editors to ensure data accuracy, oversee data collection process, communicate roadblocks, and resolve inconsistencies and ambiguities as they arise
  • 10% Build relationship with internal and external stakeholders involved in the research


About You:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheet, Document, Drive, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of personal loans terminology, service structure, and important metrics
  • Proficiency with Google Sheet formula or Excel formula
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree with research experience
  • Experience in lending industry is a plus
