Overview
The Research Finance Analyst I process a wide variety of post award management tasks while adhering to best practices, providing outstanding customer service to co-workers, and the research community, as well as facilitating the research administration effort within DFCI. The Research Finance Analyst I is an entry-level professional; uses general business concepts for problem solving and works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. The Research Finance Analyst I take on a less complex financial portfolio of grants.

This position's work location is fully remote with occasional time on-campus in [Brookline, MA]. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).
Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up project awards and amend projects as needed.
Manages the financial administration of less complex research portfolio throughout grant life cycle of Non-federal and Federally grants.
Approves incoming subcontract invoices for payment.
Ensures that awards are managed in full compliance with applicable sponsor’s rules and regulations and DFCI’s internal policies.
Responsible for closing-out of projects, including journal entries and reconciliation.
Responsible for financial reporting and invoicing to sponsors.
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or similar required.
Minimum Experience (years/type):
A minimum of 1-year professional experience in Finance, Business or Accounting. This may include directly relevant internships.
Experience in research administration in an academic setting (hospital, non-profit organization or university) preferred.
