Job Description

They are seeking a Shareholder Research Analyst to join their team in New York, N.Y.


Salary Range: $80,000-$115,000


NOTE: This opportunity is currently fully remote with periodic presence at the company's midtown New York, NY location (need to live within commuting distance of NYC).



This position will focus on analyzing and reporting on institutional investor voting at U.S.shareholder meetings by utilizing data analysis, research of proprietary and external databases,and deductive reasoning.


Requirements:

  • Experience working with financial data from sources such as Bloomberg and FactSet
  • Exhibit both deductive and inductive reasoning skills to analyze information and make impactful decisions
  • Ability to communicate financial data and generate actionable reports from internal/external data sources
  • Have strong abilities to research across multiple databases, historical and current
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Solid understanding of the stock market, financial instruments, and the investment process (knowledge of corporate governance issues and influencers is a plus)
  • Ability to analyze large, complex, and dynamic data sets


Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, coursework in Finance, Business Administration, Statistics,or related field preferred
  • Advanced-level MS Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • 3-5 years experience working in the financial industry

This position is ideally suited for persons looking for a long-term commitment to a career in a dynamic field of shareholder engagement and analytics. Your data analysis skills will enable you to contribute to insights used by clients to make actionable decisions with respect to shareholder engagement on merger votes, proxy contests, and other high-stakes shareholder votes. Work history gained from related industry internships or academic positions such as a student-faculty assistant, will be factored as practical experience relevant to this position.Please highlight if you have a working knowledge of custodian/broker processing data when applying and/or experience within proxy voting or tender offers.
