Job Description
The Financial Analyst role provides analysis and recommendations to the business with a focus on operational support, expense management, budgeting, and forecasting. This position will serve as a business partner to the Marketing & Credit organizations, collaborating with the business to provide meaningful financial analytics, business case development, and assistance with managing expense. This position focuses on business operations and supports both the business and internal Finance with insightful analytics and impactful reporting.
Serves as a Finance business partner and subject-matter-expert in business operations for the Marketing & Credit organizations: supporting the monthly financial close process, driving monthly financial reporting, as well as coordinating annual budget and monthly forecast updates.
Drives partnership with business & Accounting to ensure accurate invoice coding & accrual reconciliations.
Act as Finance system-owner for the Belk Marketing System, partnering with the business, Accounting, and IT to ensure system accuracy.
Supports business area initiatives and special projects through in-depth analysis, ad hoc report generation, & financial reviews and educated recommendations.
Supports CFO and VP of FP&A with ad-hoc analyses and monthly Leadership materials.
Identifies and implements process improvements that drive operational efficiencies.
Growth opportunity to expand scope to assist in supporting Omni Operations.
Maintains key partnerships with Marketing, Credit, Finance, and external vendors.

Minimum Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years Financial Analysis experience with a proven track record of increasing responsibility, preferably within FP&A (retail a plus)
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Prior financial experience for a retailer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree
