The Information & Technology Special Programs provides overall IT service delivery to JPL’s National Partnerships Office. This exciting fast-paced and specialized IT environment is an enabler for National Security work performed at JPL.


The Computer Security Analyst will be a key member of cyberspace operations team in the Information & Technology Special Programs (ITSP) office and will have responsibility for delivering tier one support to the National Partnerships Office userbase. They will delivery on a portfolio of IT services at JPL. This individual will have oversight of architectural definition, sustaining and enhancement activities, staffing, budgeting, compliance, as well as recommending and implementing changes to methods, practices, and IT policies. This individual will partner with other members of the ITSD leadership team in informing and executing the ITSD vision and achieving laboratory goals.


The Computer Security Analyst will work as part of the cyber-operations team responsible for execution of all tactical user cyber deliverable.


What You'll Do


  • Assist end-users with user specific necessary to bring about the successful completion of infrastructure team goals and objectives
  • Accept telephone calls, web-based requests and in-person based IT service requests
  • Execute critical thinking to analyze user issues in order to solve issues that can impact end-users’ schedule and performance
  • Guide users through technical solutions to ensure user experiences are undisrupted
  • Ensure cyber-security compliance with federal cyber security policies and procedures
  • Serve as users’ primary interface for tier one IT support and equipment deployments
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop processes to provide the highest level of IT customer service, ensure customer satisfaction and continually improve IT service delivery
  • Ensures appropriate actions are executed for incident management, problem management, asset control, and configuration management


Qualifications / Experience / Certifications


  • Available to work both off-site and on-site, in a team environment of internal and external coworkers
  • Typically requires Associates Degree with one year of related experience or High School Diploma with six years of related experience.
  • Current Counter-Intelligence (CI) Poly highly desired. Must be willing to submit to a CI Poly
  • In-scope Top Secret clearance w/ability to be SCI briefed
  • Ability to obtain IAT Level II/III, IAM Level I/II/III 8140 Cyber Workforce Management Certification (examples: Security+, CASP, Cloud+, CASP, CISSP) within six months of hire
  • Availability to work non-standard hours; early/after hours; nights, weekends as needed


Note: As a temporary position, this assignment may last up to 36 months in duration with approvals based on 12-month assignments. However, please note that you are not under any employment contract and your temporary employment status can be terminated at any time, with or without notice.

The hiring range displayed below is specifically for those who will work in or reside in the location listed. In extending an offer, Jet Propulsion Laboratory considers factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s job related skills, experience, knowledge, and relevant education/training. Hiring range for this job may be adjusted based on primary work location outside of Pasadena, California. This adjusted range will be provided to candidates by the Recruiter when applicable.

$60,424 - $77,064
