Job Description

Job Summary:


As a Public Sector Business Development Specialist, you will be focused on selling and expanding Lavi Industries product offerings to federal, strategic state governments, military, police, public transit, infrastructure care, public education and health care, etc. You’ll join our growing sales team and be responsible for prospecting contacts, generating qualified opportunities, winning new business and managing relationships with key customers.


You will successfully expand our presence in assigned government accounts by constantly looking for ways Lavi to support our clients’ needs. You will have a deep understanding of the public queuing and queue management space, particularly around selling architectural fixtures and queuing equipment to key government stakeholders.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Position yourself as a consultative subject matter expert and the single point of contact between Lavi and your public sector contacts
  • Work closely and cross-functionally with Leadership, Operations, Product Development, Marketing, and Customer Service to develop solutions that solve for client challenges
  • Generate business using modern sales methods (CRM, RFP/Bid Sourcing Platforms, email marketing, web analytics, sales intelligence tools)
  • Generate revenue through new and existing relationships with public sector agencies
  • Acquire, maintain, and manage all GSA scheduling contacts
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations and Delivery teams on account status, follow up activities, product literature, opportunity status, win-loss and related sales support tasks
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the policy, economic, business, and clinical pressures impacting the Government priorities and based on this knowledge, proactively engage with Government clients to meet their needs
  • Confidently and credibly present public queuing solutions by leading product presentations, demonstrations, conference calls, technical discussions/due diligence, executive discussions, web seminars and related activities
  • Develop a network of public sector resellers, MWBE / Veteran owned certified organizations, government distributors, etc. to generate more growth
  • Develop an industry specific strategy to penetrate the territory, including direct to customer initiatives (automated sales prospecting, webinars, cold calling) and networking initiatives (agency lunch and learns, sales certification courses, etc.)
  • Drive all stages of opportunity development from coordinating product proposals, RFIs, RFPs to contract negotiations and execution
  • Engage customers in identifying and shaping opportunities. Actively market the company brand, establish customer expectations, and shape opportunities by creating white papers and responding to RFI's and RFP's
  • Build, maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecast to achieve individual revenue goals


Qualifications:


  • Extensive RFP response and proposal writing experience, coupled with expert business writing skills.
  • Demonstrated achievement of goals as a result of finding, developing and sustaining strong client relationships in public sector agencies.
  • Proficiency in modern sales methodologies and technologies (CRM, RFP/Bid Sourcing Platforms, email marketing, web analytics, sales intelligence tools).
  • 5+ years of experience in quota carrying role selling architectural, security, facility maintenance, and/or solutions to public sector agencies.
  • Working understanding of the B2B manufacturing field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of government (Federal) procurement processes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
