Job Description

Purpose of the Role:


You will be a member of McLaren Racing’s Business Development Team within the US, which is tasked with creating the commercial framework that will enable McLaren to deliver the most exciting and inspiring performance in racing and win world championships.


Your primary role will be to secure meetings with decision makers of top global brands who are based in the US for the Vice Presidents of Business Development. This role will be expected to be a tenacious team member, playing an important role to ensure the region is maximizing all opportunities to deliver against ambitious revenue targets.


Principal Accountabilities:


  • Play a critical role in tracking industry news and senior executive / decision maker moves.
  • Targeting specific verticals, they will need to become category experts, understanding trends within these industries and develop an ability for early identification of which McLaren Racing entity/entities (F1, FE, XE, IndyCar, esports, Licensing) would be best suited.
  • Track all outreach accurately in a database, implementing a proactive follow up process
  • Success will require the ability to identify prospective categories, businesses, and brands, and find ways to make direct contact with C-level/senior executives across multiple industries, seeking out potential opportunities for the US Vice Presidents of Business Development to meet and/or host them at an event.
  • Identifying prospective targets and securing introductory calls and meetings is the primary focus of this position.
  • Build knowledge on the McLaren Advisory Team, their network, backgrounds, and industry expertise.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally.
  • A strong understanding of sports partnerships landscape and decision-making hierarchy
  • To be self-sufficient but able to work in line within the wider team strategy and processes.
  • To be able to operate in a high pressure environment.  A rounded knowledge of MS Office and Salesforce.
  • A proven record in sales lead generation.
  • A flexible approach to hours and an ability to work across multiple time zones.
