Definition and Class Characteristics


This Individual Will Support The Department By Assisting With Clerical Tasks Related To The Department Units Including

  • Completing and filing forms, and other clerical support duties as assigned.
  • Greeting and assisting customers.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Answering phones.


Applicants interested in an Office Assistant I (OA I) level will have completed twelfth grade and have coursework or practical experience in typing. Candidates qualified for the Office Assistant II will meet the requirements for OA I and also have two years of general clerical experience at the OA I level. Delta Dental is the dental provider offered through Nevada County and VSP Vision Care is our vision care provider.


Retirement


The County is a member of the CalPERS retirement system and provides the opportunity for voluntary contributions to a 457 deferred compensation account through Nationwide by way of pre-tax and Roth payroll deductions.
