The Opportunity:
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, driving strategic HR initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The selected candidate will require hands-on subject matter expertise and execution including benefits administration, compensation, employee relations, and talent management. Their expertise will be vital in attracting, retaining, and developing to talent support the growth and success of ZCG. The position will be based in New York City, require full-time, in office presence, and report to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain company handbooks, mandatory trainings, and general firm-wide human resources best practices compliant with all Federal, State, City and County specific requirements
- Establish and maintain positive employee relations by providing guidance, counseling, and conflict resolution support
- Provide strategic human resource guidance and support to business leaders and department heads
- Collaborate with managers to identify training needs and design professional development programs to enhance employee skills
- Lead all new-hire employee onboarding, including background/reference checks, and employee offboarding, including exit interviews
- Coordinate with executive leadership to identify and address human resource needs and opportunities
- Lead diversity initiatives and promote equity and inclusion throughout all HR processes and initiatives
- In collaboration with department heads, generate job descriptions
- Oversee performance management process, including mid-year and year-end performance reviews, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms
- Remain up to date on market trends to ensure ZCG remains competitive in the industry
- Develop and implement strategies aligned with ZCG’s objectives and long-term growth plans
- Manage staffing agency relationships and serve as main point of contact
- Design and administer competitive compensation and benefit packages that attract high-caliber professionals, and lead benefit renewals including renewal comparisons, claims monitoring, and reporting of employee education meetings/webinars
Requirements for consideration:
- Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, retention, and performance management
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws, regulations, guidelines, and HR best practices
- 10+ years of recent, relevant experience as an HR professional including 5+ years of experience within the financial services industry
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at various levels
- Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Proven track record of success in an HR leadership role
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost discretion
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced corporate setting including the ability to multi-task effectively
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Expected Annual Base Compensation will be $140,000 - $175,000 (Subject to the candidate's qualifications and experience).
