Job Description
Job Title: - IT Service Support III (Telecommunications Support)


Client's Location: Richmond, VA 23219 (Local candidates only)


Duration: 12+ months contract with the possibility of extending


Job Type: Remote


: The client has determined that there is a need for regional IT Support throughout the Commonwealth to assist with information technology needs and telecommunication projects. The position will report to the Office of Information Management's IT Operations Center and will perform various tasks to help direct IT requests through the appropriate channels, communicate the IT telecommunication needs of their assigned regions, and will be the voice of their assigned region.

Required Qualifications


  • Knowledge of IT Service Management: Incident, Change, Service Request, and Asset Management.
  • 2-3 years lead experience.
  • 3-4 years experience as a telecommunications specialist, IT support, or similar
  • Associate degree in computer science, telecommunications, information technology, or similar field preferred work experience may meet this requirement in lieu of a degree at the hiring manager's discretion.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Asset Management experience.


Daily Duties Include But Not Limited To


  • Advise users on how to use technology or what technology exists to meet their business needs or communicates those needs to the IT Operations Center for advice.
  • Demonstrate servant leadership through collaborative strategic and tactical planning to achieve the holistic goals of the IT Operations Center.
  • Verifies service by testing and re-programming circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying and correcting problems; and conferring with engineers.
  • Communicates new technologies, opportunities, events, changes, policies, best practices, and procedures to the assigned region.
  • Direct users to the appropriate source of help based on needs.
  • Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing network backup procedures, and updating documentation.
  • Establishes voice and data networks by programming features, establishing interfaces and integrations, following industry standards, and activating remote access tools.
  • Communicate the needs of the region to the IT Operations Center.
  • Respond to requests of the assigned region for IT Support in the client's IT Service Portal.
  • Provides coordination and assistance with Asset Management, PC Refresh, Phone System Issues, Printer Refreshes, etc.
  • Entering requests into TEBS and coordinating telecom replacement, moves, and help troubleshoot issues, and find solutions for replacements.
  • Documents network by recording configuration diagrams and programming.
  • Analyzes network performance and prepares and presents reports based on that analysis.
  • Inventories and prioritizes network and equipment repairs.
  • Establishes communications systems by programming voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.
